Mélange des genres pour ce salon plein de vie pour lequel j'ai utilisé des matériaux de construction et beaucoup d'éléments de récup'. Un panneau carreleur a été transformé en porte cartes, un panneau OSB a été utilisé pour créer une table basse, la banquette a été conçue avec des palettes de récupération laissées brutes, un buffet chiné, une chaise Emmaüs, des miroirs de portes ont été utilisés pour créer une verrière bon marché mais du plus bel effet !

Ainsi, un dialogue commence entre l’écriture de l’ancien et les lignes saillantes et épurées du volume créé. Ce projet est rendu possible en partie par sa structure en portiques bois qui offre un espace intérieur orienté Nord-Est, en double hauteur, laissant alors la possibilité de contempler le jardin en contre-plongée.

The refurbishment of a large double reception room in a semi-detached Victorian property in Walthamstow. Studio Milne redesigned two spaces bringing them together to create one large double reception room. Adding an impressive oversize single leaf door leading to a south-facing garden to bring as much light as possible into the space. We have used reclaimed pine joist flooring, plantation shutters on the front window and used the same flooring to create bespoke floating shelves. A feature black cast iron radiator, detailed finishing and a projector screen hidden within the ceiling void increase the wow factor of this impressive room.

My clients asked me to create a library for their book collection in this East facing former dining room. The room lacks natural daylight with a chandelier as the only night time source of illumination. A dramatic triple rise and fall fluted glass central pendant allows for maximum light as well as concentrated reading at a low height if preferred. Soft Lewis and Wood linens have been used to make the custom built window seat a comfortable and cosy reading space.
