Unfortunately what this plan does show is what you don't know. Honestly there is nothing worth saving. Plus good home design starts with the site, and not with putting boxes together as if it were a jigsaw puzzle. An architect works and thinks in 3D and takes everything into consideration.
If you want to brainstorm, then put together a list of your wants and needs and get examples by using pinterest and idea books. Do a bubble diagram showing how you want the spaces to relate to one another instead of trying to create the house.
