The answer to all your questions is yes. This is exactly what we did in our tiny en-suite bathroom. All tiled areas were prepared using Schluter Kerdi water proofing membrane and the floor using Schluter Ditra water proofing and decoupling membrane with electric radiant in-floor heating and programmable thermostat that can measure either the air temperature or the in-floor temperature. It is a European shower with no door, curtain or any barrier to the shower area. The shower area is at the same level as the rest of the bathroom with large format floor tiles sloping downwards towards a Schluter linear drain at the edge of a wall. The drain cover has the same ceramic tiles as the rest of the floor. Many people ask where the drain is as they are used to seeing the drain in the middle of the floor.
