This is a kitchen for a ranch house we did 20 years ago in Stephenville. Notice the clay-colored cabinets with an extra wide shaker frame. The stone wall is a remnant of the exterior wall of the ranch house that partially burned in the 1950's. It is a very soft and soothing palette.

here's one of our kitchens- imagine it with shaker style cabinet drawers, not flat panel and see how much color can be inserted with just the backsplash. This backsplash is a custom glass mosaic made by a local artist - you could have something with less movement but still pulling in the colors from your rug for example.
