I don't love it, but for two tiers of cabinets, the upper tier is interesting.

Island--if we do one tier, broadening, and adding storage, maybe?
If we're going to have small upper cabinets, maybe have a couple in glass to display items, though I guess it means cutting ceiling for lighting.
