The door is mahogany, with a custom stain. We had the painters prep a few samples on a piece of mahogany, prior to staining the door. This allowed the final selection to be made by the owner. The door was finished with three coats of satin urethane. The bottom edge of the door received the same finish,

Clean look. Like no sills for kitchen maybe. Can you imagine building a partition out of the landing to hand a door like this that would separate the kitchen from the front hall?
