I like this floor too but I worry about getting too dark - I like the look of dark floors but I don't want our flooring to show every spec of hair/dirt/etc.

I could see us using a floor like this - I think we need to avoid hardwood though. It will be destroyed by the pets and kids. A high quality laminate is probably the way to go.
