Reply to: i have both and would do both again. but (there is always a but) not all rain showers or vessel sinks are alike. our 'vessel' is very large, not a standing bowl thats hard to clean around. and our rain head is purpose built from the ceiling, not protruding from the wall which can have a problem of being too close to the wall. yes, you have to have good water pressure. and you do need to have a hand held shower as well for when you dont want to wash your hair and for sluicing down the walls. but OMG my rain shower is magical.

Reply to: Yes, own and have installed many. We love ours and my clients love theirs. I will admit that I don't have experience with a "flat" vessel sink. All have had some type of "wall" either sloped or curved. Water hits these walls and glides into the drain. No splashing. They are easy to clean. Inside and out. Keep in mind, they are a bowl, sit above the surface of the counter and will break and chip if abused

Reply to: most of these seem to be mounted within 8 inches of the mirror, perhaps this is to add to the lights brightness. I don't know if that would interfere and get in your way, I'm not sure I get that close to the mirror.

Reply to: Hi there! Wall sconces are a refreshing change from the usual overhead light, but only when it makes sense to do so. In addition to your questions, another thing to keep in mind is the style of the sconces you choose (if you go this route). Since your vanity is only 36" wide, a mirror and two sconces may get a little crowded. The mirror will need to be no more than 2' wide, including frame. This will leave 6" on each side for the sconces. If they are narrow, this can work. Just centre each sconce on the 6" between edge of mirror and edge of vanity. Definitely don't extend the sconces beyond the edge of the vanity. Since you have very little time to pick a mirror and sconces, I would personally default to an overhead light. Things are less likely to go wrong here - all your electrician needs to do is centre the wires over the vanity! Allow a good 36" from top of vanity to the light opening - maybe even a few inches more. This will allow for about a 6" backsplash, and a 30" high mirror. If you go with an overhead light, the mirror could be anywhere from 2 - 3' wide. The biggest advantage to sconces (aside from being new and different) is that if the bathroom is being used to do make-up, the side lights help eliminate shadows. In this particular bathroom, it doesn't sound like this would be the case? I hope this was helpful!

Reply to: For a medicine cabinet, it all depends on what you want to spend. The issue with getting a wider one is that you either will have a very large door to open, that requires you to step back from the sink, or you will have two or more doors to open, with breaks in the glass surface for the door edges, giving you a line in the reflection. Larger hinged door cabinets sometimes deal with this by doing one larger door in the center and a smaller mirrored door to the side (or both sides). Or there is a crack between two equal mirrors, right down the center. You have to consider how you use the med cab to decide which is best for you. The Quality Bath site has a large selection of med cabs to look at, but their site is closed for the Sabbath from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown (eastern time US). Houzz also has a large collection. It seems to me like you could have a med cab as wide as your vanity, at most. Think about where you want your lighting, though. Most say that having sconces at face height is best for shaving and make-up, so you would want a narrower mirrored cabinet if you had a sconce on each side. Getting a cabinet with LED lighting right in the glass is another option, and it does not require any extra wall space. This one is even 6 inches deep, so it will hold just about anything you would want to store in it.
