Frida
Frida Kahlo broke all boundaries with her self portraits that depicted her own mental landscape and experiences. Influenced by her tumultuous marriage to Muralist Diego Rivera, Kahlo also was part of the Surrealist movement (Dali, Miro, Picasso) and admired artists who celebrated nature - such as Paul Klee.
The Frida Kahlo Museum also known as the Blue House (La Casa Azul) for the structure's cobalt-blue walls, is a museum dedicated to her life and work. Donated by husband Diego Rivera after Kahlo's death, the collection is displayed in the houses' rooms, which remains as it was in the 1950s. Today, it is the most popular museum in Coyoacán and one of the most visited in Mexico City.
