This stone can be called a variety of names in the USA, most are all the same vein cut stone or similar with a different name. For us when it is a vein cut and not (flower cut the other way) it creates an almost wood appearance so we decided to call our collection "White Oak Marble Limestone and it has Field Tiles from $6.85 a Square Foot for 12x24" and Mosaics Like Basketweave with an Athens Gray dot for $10.95 a Square Foot.
They look expensive and they can be if you go into the wrong shop. If you are ever in Miami or look up pictures of the St. Regis Bal Harbor you will see they have the entire inside of the hotel decorated in it. So it is premium quality marble.
It has as always been over charged not because of the actual cost of mining and extracting the blocks, but run through an inefficient supply chain with 4 steps and everyone adding 100% Markup thus the consumer ends up paying $30 to $50 a Square Foot.
Remove that supply chain and you can bring it to market at a price that is well terrifying to any retailer.
Invest in the quarry of this stone, import blocks and have them cut and then you can sell it for a lot lower online. So for example 12x24" Polished used in this room for $6.85 a Square Foot. Then you can use chair rail, pencils, Basketweave is $10.95SF and Free Shipping, Herringbone, Hexagon and we will grow the collection. Currently has 18 products with 12x24" Honed for the sale price of $6.85 a Square Foot.
White Oak 12x24" Honed $6.85SF (Price valid thru 2016)
White Oak 12x24" Polished $6.85SF (Price valid thru 2016)

Screenshot from our webpage show eight of the over twenty different choices.
(All Prices quoted here are valid thru 2016 - it maybe longer but we have to put a time limit to the price point).
