Idea for 2nd floor: get rid of that wall in the shower to make it feel larger; add wainscoting... nice re-do of a cramped outdated bathroom.

What if, to open up the upstairs bathroom you took down the wall separating the vanity and the shower and had an overhanging shower curtain, such as above? Also note the bullnose lip at the top of the subway tile.

Love the clean lines and openness of this vanity, but the "open storage" on the bottom; In real life does it just become a messy collection of random items down below? I guess it would depend on what other storage is in the bathroom: a medicine cabinet for toiletries and shelving for towels? Would this be good for a kid's (boys) bathroom, that could grow with them? (i.e. no worry about makeup and hairdryers etc etc)
