This is an acid etched finish. Although it has a very smooth appearance it does have a very fine grit to the surface which is why we like it. It has a much cleaner look than a tradition broom finished concrete and it is a more honest/natural looking concrete than a colored or stamped product. We use this finish quite often in Oregon where we have a lot of rain. As the previous entry noted, you do, however, need to be cautious on any surface in a wet situation.
