The attic conversion has been upgraded creating a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. A new kitchen is housed inside the single storey extension, with zinc cladding and responsive skylights The brick and flint boundary wall has been sensitively restored and enhances the contemporary feel of the extension.

We started out with quite a different plan for this bathroom. Before tiling we needed to re-plaster the walls but when we exposed the beautiful red sandstone behind, it had to stay. The original design had been pure Victorian but the final design combined Victorian with rustic and the result is striking.

The internal spirally-shaped staircase wrapping around the two bathrooms leads to the Master bedroom ensuite at the upper level - Daniele Petteno Architecture Workshop
