Lune de Sang is an intergenerational venture that will see the transformation of a former dairy property into a sustainably harvested forest with trees that take up to 300 years to mature. The site is comprised of two working sheds, a family pavilion, a log cabin and the general manager's residence. The residence occupies a key position in the rural landscape and the buildings have been shifted from the cardinal axes of the site to provide surveillance of the entrance gate and to the overall site. Given the magnitude of this venture an on-site general manager is needed to ensure operations run smoothly on a daily and long-term basis. The residence was conceived to calibrate its functions around the general manager's professional and family life. It is comprised of a combined office / dwelling and a detached shed. The office is located at the northern end of the building and offers good sightlines to the entrance and overall site. Designed to withstand bushfires, the building's exterior is cladded with zincalume sheets and fire resistant hardwoods. The verandah is articulated by oversized columns, which accentuate the residence's presence and frame the landscape beyond. It not only serves as a viewing and surveillance platform but also contributes to moderating the sub-tropical climate and during summer months turns into a second circulation zone between rooms. The generic gable roof allows the residence to maintain a low line in this vast setting and remains akin to the traditional architecture of the region. The shape of the roof is reflected within the interior of the residence with white plaster walls rising to meet a rich geometry of pitched planes and junctions. Windows with concealed aluminum framing create sharply defined viewports that capture the green landscape within the interior of the space. This experience is enhanced by contrasting the intensity of these framed views with a mute interior palette; comprised of concrete floors and white walls. The general manager's residence is in some respect a reinterpretation of the traditional vernacular architecture of the area. It is humble and respectful of its surroundings. In its simple expression it longs to this notion of timelessness.

Living in their forever home these clients wanted their kitchen to become a more useful living space. Before the refurbishment; the kitchen was half the size, this project was a great example of what many families desire, the Kitchen and Dining Room were knocked into one great family luxury Kitchen space. John Breaker, one of the partners at Herbert William undertook the management of the project including building works and even took on installing the clients downstairs toilet (not supplied by us). The kitchen itself is our European premium modern brand ‘Intuo‘ which Herbert William import from Austria. Each unit in this kitchen has been meticulously made to size it has matt lacquered frontals, with the internals all made by Blum. The client wanted a clean white kitchen but wanted to break it up a little with a small amount of grey, it was Grant at Herbert William who suggested having a vertical stripe of grey to make the ovens more a feature in the tall run. The client wanted the dining area and the luxury kitchen area to share space, along with the ovens being easily accessible from the garden. (The client prefers BBQ cooking and wanted use of the warming drawers for the extra food, which he has already made substantial use of!) This is what led to having the tall bank run along the length of the newly formed room which used to be the dining area, with a small amount of worktop with drawers to allow their daughters to do baking without using the main area of the kitchen. They wanted to retain a Larder next to the main cooking and prep area, so it is within reach to the left of the sink. The worktops are another fantastic choice! The client fell in love with the material known as Dekton, a High-pressure composite comparable to Porcelain but with a high heat resistance threshold and very difficult to scratch. They wanted a large contrast, so they selected the Dekton Doomoos colour; which as you can see from the photos is almost black. Couple this with the Blanco Rock Grey SilGranite under mount Sinks and they are seamless! The two double wall cabinets they have are equipped with a diffuse light by Intuo which sits in the handle recess, along with RGB under lighting on the kickboards in the main kitchen area. All of the appliances in this kitchen are Miele, the client even went to Abingdon Miele Experience centre for an experience day to select their appliances. This led to having Sensor Tronic controls on their Pyrolitic and Combination Steam ovens (Both full size!) along with an induction hob with two Powerflex zones and Temperature control! The ceiling extractor is also Miele and communicates to the hob through Con@ctivity, this actively changes the levels of the extractor while you are cooking! They also asked us to design their utility which is in the same Intuo units with Dekton tops, along with the stacking of their existing Miele Tumble Dryer and Washing Machine Photos by Lia Vittone

Le projet : Un appartement familial en Vente en Etat Futur d’Achèvement (VEFA) où tout reste à faire. Les propriétaires ont su tirer profit du délai de construction pour anticiper aménagements, choix des matériaux et décoration avec l’aide de Decor Interieur. Notre solution : A partir des plans du constructeur, nous avons imaginé un espace à vivre qui malgré sa petite surface (32m2) doit pouvoir accueillir une famille de 4 personnes confortablement et bénéficier de rangements avec une cuisine ouverte. Pour optimiser l’espace, la cuisine en U est configurée pour intégrer un maximum de rangements tout en étant très design pour s’intégrer parfaitement au séjour. Dans la pièce à vivre donnant sur une large terrasse, il fallait intégrer des espaces de rangements pour la vaisselle, des livres, un grand téléviseur et une cheminée éthanol ainsi qu’un canapé et une grande table pour les repas. Pour intégrer tous ces éléments harmonieusement, un grand ensemble menuisé toute hauteur a été conçu sur le mur faisant face à l’entrée. Celui-ci bénéficie de rangements bas fermés sur toute la longueur du meuble. Au dessus de ces rangements et afin de ne pas alourdir l’ensemble, un espace a été créé pour la cheminée éthanol et le téléviseur. Vient ensuite de nouveaux rangements fermés en hauteur et des étagères. Ce meuble en plus d’être très fonctionnel et élégant permet aussi de palier à une problématique de mur sur deux niveaux qui est ainsi résolue. De plus dès le moment de la conception nous avons pu intégrer le fait qu’un radiateur était mal placé et demander ainsi en amont au constructeur son déplacement. Pour bénéficier de la vue superbe sur Paris, l’espace salon est placé au plus près de la large baie vitrée. L’espace repas est dans l’alignement sur l’autre partie du séjour avec une grande table à allonges. Le style : L’ensemble de la pièce à vivre avec cuisine est dans un style très contemporain avec une dominante de gris anthracite en contraste avec un bleu gris tirant au turquoise choisi en harmonie avec un panneau de papier peint Pierre Frey. Pour réchauffer la pièce un parquet a été choisi sur les pièces à vivre. Dans le même esprit la cuisine mixe le bois et l’anthracite en façades avec un plan de travail quartz noir, un carrelage au sol et les murs peints anthracite. Un petit comptoir surélevé derrière les meubles bas donnant sur le salon est plaqué bois. Le mobilier design reprend des teintes présentes sur le papier peint coloré, comme le jaune (canapé) et le bleu (fauteuil). Chaises, luminaires, miroirs et poignées de meuble sont en laiton. Une chaise vintage restaurée avec un tissu d’éditeur au style Art Deco vient compléter l’ensemble, tout comme une table basse ronde avec un plateau en marbre noir.

Un' Architettura d’Interni e un Arredamento Country Chic Moderno per una Villetta Viareggina in Toscana nelle campagne in provincia di Pisa è stato un bell’esercizio di progettazione di una ristrutturazione che propone uno stile rustico rivisitato in chiave più contemporanea. E’ stato inoltre uno degli stravolgimenti spaziali e distributivi che abbia mai fatto; se confrontate sotto la pianta dello stato prima dei lavori e la pianta di progetto è incredibile come tutta la casa sia stata modificato per dare nuove comodità e nuove spazialità.
