A south facing extension has been built to convert a derelict Grade II listed barn into a sustainable, contemporary and comfortable home that invites natural light into the living spaces with glass extension to barn. Glovers Barn was a derelict 15th Century Grade II listed barn on the ‘Historic Buildings at Risk’ register in need of a complete barn renovation to transform it from a dark, constrained dwelling to an open, inviting and functional abode. Stamos Yeoh Architects thoughtfully designed a rear south west glass extension to barn with 20mm minimal sightline slim framed sliding glass doors to maximise the natural light ingress into the home. The flush thresholds enable easy access between the kitchen and external living spaces connecting to the mature gardens.

For this kitchen, the Nobilia 317 range was used, featuring a sleek and modern design, combined with the 334 Lacquer Laminate in Slate Gray Matt finish to add a touch of elegance to the overall aesthetic. The worktops supplied by Algarve Granite were 20mm Calacatta Nero Quartz, providing a durable and low-maintenance surface while contributing to the kitchen's luxurious feel. The contrast between the dark grey cabinets and the light, veined quartz worktops creates a visually appealing look. Equipped with top-of-the-line appliances from Siemens, Bora, Blanco, and Quooker, this kitchen is a cooking haven. The layout and design of the kitchen prioritise functionality, making it ideal for this busy household. The room has an odd shape but we took it as an opportunity to build niche open shelving - perfect for displaying small decor items. Siamo partiti da un giardino un pò disordinato, quei giardini fai da te con piante posizionate qua e là senza un vero criterio, qualche fioritura per dare colore e una siepe di gelsomino tutta spettinata! I proprietari di casa ci hanno pregato di rimettere ordine, dare un senso e valorizzare quella parte di casa che fino ad oggi avevano un pò tralasciato per dedicarsi agli interni. Ci hanno espresso la necessità di volersi godere tutto quel verde che li corconda e così ci siamo rimboccati le maniche. Dopo aver rivisto la forma delle aiuole abbiamo fatto qualche spostamento, abbiamo aggiunto dei cespugli, diverse erbacee, perenni e graminacee. Sempre con un'occhio alla biodiversità, alla sostenibilità e al minor impatto sull'ambiente. E questo è il risultato! Colori eleganti, equilibrio tra materiali e parti verdi, fioriture scaglionate tutto l'anno e una vista dalla pergola che farà invidia ai vicini!

The worktops and splash back are bespoke surfaces, hand crafted using micro-cement with liquid metal resin detailing to create the stunning visual effect of natural, tactile veining throughout. This re-surfacing technique is more than decorative. Micro-cement's wear-resistant and water proof properties, combined with the visual versatility and cost-effective application, made the use of the material an obvious solution to many design elements of this project. Each vein was carefully crafted with the artistic eye of an expert, with stunning attention to detail.

Un bagno moderno e di design. Una doccia walk-in occupa gran parte della scena, all'interno della quale si nota un soffione a pioggia di colore nero e un piccolo sedile a muro finito in resina. La parete è rivestita con piastrelle a motivi geometrici in tre diverse colorazioni grigio-blu, bianco e nero, questo crea un forte contrasto visivo e un tocco artistico. Il motivo geometrico si dissolve diventando più uniforme verso il mobile. A terra invece abbiamo optato per un pavimento in resina. Il mobile lavabo di colore grigio - blu come il rivestimento, poggia a terra e ha una struttura in metallo sempre di colore nero con un piano d'appoggio bianco. Sopra il lavabo è presente uno specchio rotondo retroilluminato a sinistra del quale pende una lampada a sospensione sottile sempre di colore nero. Lo stile di questo bagno è minimalista e contemporaneo, dominato da una palette di colori neutri come il grigio - blu, il nero e il bianco, curato nei dettagli, funzionale e con un'estetica ricercata.
