About Us

Below you will find our choice of garden design services. Services are done in person in and around South West London and online for the rest of the UK. For the latter, I will send you a questionnaire and step-by-step guide that, with pictures of your current garden, will inform the design that I will produce for your garden. Once completed, I will send you the product via email. 1- Full Garden Design Package This option will provide a blueprint for your future garden. It takes your needs, tastes and garden conditions into consideration and is drawn to scale. The accompaning documents (such as set out plan, materials and construction suggestions, full planting plan with seasonal charts etc) help to inform the garden build. This service also includes the planting selection and plans. This is done in two steps: First I make a concept plan and send it to you with a mood board and 3D visuals to illustrate my vision for your garden so that I can get your feedback on it before moving onto phase two which consists of the production of the final documents that make up the package. 2- Planting Plan A Planting Plan is a great choice if you want to leave plant selection to a professional! Your needs, tastes and specific garden conditions will again be taken into consideration. A Planting Plan will provide you with a Plant List, indicating how many of each plant you will need (which makes it easy for you or the contractor, depending on who will carry out the planting), as well as pictures of the chosen plants to help you visualise the selection and a seasonal chart so that you know what to expect from each plant. Sometimes, refreshing your garden borders and beds can make a big difference, and purchasing a Planting Plan as a standalone service is a very good option in this situation.

Professional Information

Deborah is a Garden Designer and a Biologist. After obtaining her PhD and working as a scientist for some years, she decided to embrace her creativity and passion for plants and completed a post graduate course with the British Academy of Garden Design with merit. After working for some years as a garden designer, she then enrolled in the prestigious Garden Design Diploma Course with the London College of Garden Design, where she graduated with merit commended. Deborah’s designs combine her strong plant and environment scientific knowledge with a keen aesthetic perception that she has gained from having lived in two very culturally different countries: Brazil with its strong and vibrant Burle-Marx landscapes, where she was born and raised, and the UK with its naturalistic and atmospheric landscapes, where she currently lives.

I really can't recommend Deborah enough. She created a beautiful garden design for me that completely captured (and was actually much better than) what I had envisioned, while adding ideas that I never would have thought of myself. I really appreciated the fact that she made the most of the space while including my favourite features and plants. Deborah has real talent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants their garden designed by a pro.

Our experience of working with Deborah has been beyond what we had hoped for. Deborah is clearly very passionate and committed to her work and her designs have been well considered and taken into account the conditions in the the garden as well as importantly incorporating all of our requests. The designs were absolutely fantastic - very detailed and contain all the information you might need including suggestions for the various products and plants which will save hours of shopping around and avoid us planting the wrong things! It has been great to work with someone who is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and responsive and we would highly recommend her.

Deborah listened to my requirements. She incorporated some specific plants I wanted and came up with very good ideas for areas I didn’t know what to do with. She took into consideration the site, the prevailing weather and the ground conditions. An amazing job by Deborah. She did a front and back garden design and planting plan for our 1930s semi. It has a smallish triangular shaped back garden and the design she came up with was both fabulous and creative. She really listened and took note of what we wanted to get out of the garden. Now after 6 months of the work being done we are using the garden much more than we did and are especially appreciating the planting plan, which is giving us new plants in bloom each month. We’d have never have come up with this ourselves and would thoroughly recommend her for anyone considering re-doing their garden!

Deborah is an excellent garden designer who works methodically and professionally. She visited my home to conduct a thorough survey of the garden and to discuss requirements. The questionnaire she provides at the start of the process is particularly well designed; it contains lots of pertinent questions which allows the client to state their preferences in terms of style, budget and garden features/facilities. Deborah was responsive at all times, especially by email. The plans she devised were highly original, but always based on the preferences expressed in the questionnaire. I felt she made a lot of effort to fully understand what I wanted and then came up with a design to suit. The design plan that she provided at the end of the process was extremely detailed. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a garden designer/landscape architect.
