Field Day Studio

We hired Field Day to do a whole house redesign including a large building extension. Kat and Jess took us through every step of the process, designing the entire project completely in line with our tastes and needs and putting together a brilliant and friendly team of builders, decorators and installers to complete the project. They were a joy to work with and the end results were beyond our highest expectations. We can not recommend them highly enough.

Field Day Studio designed our living rooms and we were thoroughly pleased with the outcome. The design process was seamless and Kat and Emma had excellent suggestions which met the brief we had given them for the aesthetic of the rooms. It was refreshing to have ideas and suggestions we never would have come up with/ tried ourselves but really looked great when in situ. Field Day also worked really well with our builder to make sure the two parts of the project came together. Finally, Kat and Emma were responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Overall, would highly recommend.

We cannot recommend Field Day highly enough! We moved into our house in October 2019 and with no eye for design between us, we were completely overwhelmed with the size of the house and the scale of the improvements we wanted to make, and we were worried that we weren’t going to do the period property justice. The team at Field Day stepped in and guided us to explore what we really wanted from the house for our family and the lives we lead, while making it beautiful, stylish and in keeping with the boutique hotel aesthetic we were aiming for. The result is a dream home which is beyond what we could have wished for. The attention to detail is so impressive and I now spend my days wandering from room to room enjoying all the small things which compound to create a real sense of homely luxury.

I have had wonderful experiences working with Field Day. Not only do they design superbly stylish, comfortable spaces to live in - they help incorporate much loved art and treasures to make it a home and not just a showpiece. They know where to go to source exactly the right antiques, craft items, tiles, paint, lighting, furnishings and have a wonderful eye for lighting and detail. My last commission was the most difficult - a disabled bathroom that was safe for me to use but without a single item that made it shout 'disabled'. The solution? A custom-built bath, finished in tadelakt (Moroccan plaster recommended by Field Day that waterproofs irregular surfaces) with steps to get in and out safely that looks so exotic visitors actually ask to use it. This, coupled with an American walnut console and the biggest slab of hand picked marble made it the most luxurious disabled bathroom ever. I think the secret is that they listen, understand individual taste and how one lives, bring ideas to life and then brief reliable, high quality contractors so it's painless to make it happen on budget and on time. I can thoroughly recommend them.

We worked with the dynamic duo in 2019 when we decided to redo our entire basement and build out more living space - they brought really fresh and exciting ideas from the start of the project whilst keeping in mind our tastes and pretences . We are delighted by their work and happily enjoyed our new entertainment / work -fun “private members club” basement all through lock down ( thank god for that!!) . We still get a lot of praises and admiring looks from visitors whenever they come round to ours till today . Love Kat & Jess - would love to collaborate with them again when an opportunity arises

Why did you come to Field Day? I was researching on Houzz, trying to find a designer with country/barn design but also with style and practicality. I came across the project, the Lakes, and was taken by the design and aesthetic of your work. I soon looked at all the past works online and found that I love them all! That's when I know I found my designer for my new house! How would you describe Field Day’s look/ aesthetic? I love them! I think Field Day does an amazing play of colours (both neutral and bold!), blends, and makes all the furniture be a part of the whole colour palette. They are heartwarming, elegant, and special! Field Day's neutral palette reminds me of Giorgio Morandi. Was there anything that surprised you about the process? I love the boxes of samples! I got the chance to take them home and really test the textures and material! They are so cute and give such great vision of each room. Is there anything in particular about the process that you’d recommend to a friend? Field Day always provides top degree design and helps to choose the best design for my family. Kat and Jess are always a step ahead of us and never neglect the small details. The whole process is very enjoyable! Field Day also provided so much help on negotiating and cooperating with our contractor as well as full support and help when encountering any problems on site. I can't wait to see the final result of my new home! Was there anything you found disappointing? Nope! So far so good!

We have been working with Field Day Studio on number of projects through last two years. I can highly recommend them as a Design Team. They've got amazing ideas that you will not find with other designers.

From beginning to end Kat and Jess took infinite trouble with every detail of the project. Their initial research into how we planned/wanted to use the house was meticulous and carried out with great warmth and understanding. From that stage to the gradual unfolding of the design seemed to us nothing short of magical. We knew the sort of things we liked and they were able to take it and turn it into a coherent whole. Every room has its own distinct character while still forming part of a whole design which flows naturally and is a pleasure to use and live in.

They managed to make the place look like a home, look organic, natural, authentic and undesigned. Welcoming, comforting and understated chic without being ostentatious. Genius. This incredibly subtle effect comes from care and attention to detail. Poetic.

We had been renovating our Victorian house for 7 years. The final spaces we needed to finish were the hall, landing and stairs, the master bedroom and the lounge; we just didn't know quite what to do with them. We'd also already had a go at the lounge, but it just didn't work for us and didn't have the look or functionality we wanted. We met with Jess and Kat of Field Day Studio. From the moment we got together, we knew we wanted to work with them, they are just so easy to get on with. They really took the time to get to know us, understand exactly what types of 'looks' we liked, what the spaces would be used for and by whom and the feel we wanted to achieve. They spent time with us looking through lots of saved photos on Pinterest and various other 'house' styling sites and magazines, so they could really ascertain what was in our minds. The whole process was really enjoyable. Jess and Kat involved us at every stage, giving us lots of choice, so although they were designing the spaces for us, they very much felt like spaces we had created too. We are blown away with just how brilliant all the rooms look and feel. The house feels like our complete family home now. The lounge feels like a grown up, cozy but pretty cool space, without being too 'best room' for the kids to enjoy too. We all love it in there. The hall, stairs and landing is completely in keeping with the age of the property, while still bringing it up to date - clever little twists we'd have never even thought of, yet subtle enough to remain understated; and the bedroom is gorgeous! We'd have never dared do dark walls, but it feels so calming and fresh. Nothing is fussy and over-styled - it's just perfect. Thank you so much Field Day Studio, you are incredible. Needless to say, we would definitely recommend.

We have worked with Field Day Studio on a few projects now supplying measured surveys. The level of detail that they request is always very high and this is testament to the exacting standards of their final design process.
