“Emily has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She helped us navigate and plan the layout of our kitchen, living and dining extension, and the whole process has been so much easier thanks to her expertise. She initially created two different layout options, both incorporating my non-negotiables and wish list, giving us the opportunity to compare different approaches. Once we’d chosen our preferred design, Emily was brilliant at taking on board all of my feedback and making thoughtful amendments until everything felt just right. The level of detail she provided was incredible. From the placement of cutlery drawers and bins to lighting plans, planting suggestions and reference images, every element had been carefully considered. She really listened to what we were trying to achieve and came up with ideas that I would never have thought of myself but now couldn’t imagine doing without. We’re still in the early planning stages of our build, but Emily has already made such a positive impact. Knowing these important decisions have been made now will undoubtedly save us so much stress later on. I genuinely feel much more confident and excited about the project. “After moaning for years about the state of the decor in our house, having done nothing for about twenty years, we got to breaking point and decided, enough, redecoration has just got to happen. One of the main reasons for the years rolling by with little being done is that we are utterly useless at interior design, and we realised we needed help. We had three bedrooms, an en suite, lounge, hobby room, landing/stairs/hall to consider. It wasn't just a case of paint/wallpaper colours, it involved, amongst other things, a whole new load of furniture, carpets and tiles too. Teresa was simply amazing in helping us transform our home into one we had, quite honestly, no joy in walking into, into one that we are very proud of and now love being in. She opened our eyes to colours and accessories we'd never have thought of, having listened carefully to our likes and dislikes. “After two false starts with other designers, we turned to Miri after seeing their recommendations here – and we’re so glad we did! From day one, they were proactive, responsive, and ready to get to work. Early on our experience showed us the difference between a one-man band and a design studio. Both have a place in the design world, but our project needed a full team on deck. Dorota (owner) led the designs, Julia managed operations (think deliveries, scheduling etc), and Ting produced CGI high-quality renders for every decision from wallpaper to furniture layout. They worked closely with builders, electricians, decorators and joinery so that as much as possible was planned for. Renovations can be tough – trades can be unreliable, and as clients we sometimes change the best laid plans. Sometimes we wanted to spend less, or find better quality, or needed a short turnaround. But Miri took it all in stride and prioritised us. Also worth mentioning, I wanted to do the project myself and wasn’t sure we needed to invest in a designer, but with access to trade prices, their service was more affordable than we expected and the value they added is worth its weight in gold. Beyond the logistics, Miri are brilliant and brave with colors and designs, always willing to try new ideas. We wanted a home that tells our story, balancing playfulness with luxury, and they made it happen.”
