Alex and Cesar helped us resolve a tricky problem that many other companies had decided was too difficult to attempt. The primary focus of the work was to replace the lead flashing around 3 sides of a glass roof on a 10 year old extension to the rear of our property but the team helped us with so e additional pieces of work including the renovation of two rear upper floor windows, the installation of a gutter system and tidying up the whole rear aspect of the property. Access was a problem, but the team did a great job, and we’re very happy with the result.

Alex Trovalusci who is the owner of Construct Atelier Ltd started his training as an architect ,but his main passion was in actual building working with both client and architect on site to find enlightened solutions to design challenges . We first came a cross Construct Atelier Ltd when the leaseholder of the basement flat in a property we own in Saville rd London did an extension and remodelling of the basement .What could have been a very tricky project with an in-experienced client ,but with Alex's attention to detail and willingness to keep everyone informed as it progressed it when very smoothly on site. With this endorsement and high recommendation we have gone on to employ Construct Atelier Ltd on two subsequent projects .He has a very dedicated group of skilled craftsmen who work for him covering all trades . Alex and his gang did a great job converting a maisonette into 2 flats and building a mansard flat on top. It was a tricky site - with double yellow lines outside, so terrible access. The quality of the finish was excellent, it was on time and on budget. The few extra were very fairly priced. Alex has an absolutely encyclopaedic knowledge of planning law and building regs - this was invaluable in getting all the various sign offs. The fact that he has that knowledge also saved a fair bit on external advisers. I am currently working with him on sorting out a new build house where the builder (not and no connection to Alex) has struggled to get the various sign offs. Again Alex's knowledge is proving invaluable. He is also really pro-active and just gets things done. If Alex can fit your project into his full schedule, you are lucky. He is highly recommended.

Alex was very helpful with our extension and creation of a second bedroom in our basement flat. There were a number of tricky issues that occurred during the build which he handled professionally and kept us up to date with the progress. He was also on hand to provide expert opinions on items we were looking to purchase. Thanks for your hard work Alex!

Alex was exceptionally good at communicating clearly re timescales and pricing throughout the building process. He also gave us multiple choices of ways to do things whether pricing, styles and shared his view of positives and downsides of each approach. Another positive is he was clearly passionate about his subject and was always happy to share thoughts on a variety of different things, some non-project related. Throughout the building process it was evident he is a stickler for detail, would get his team to re-do stuff if it wasn't up to optimal standards. His team were polite, friendly and always tidied up afterwards. We would absolutely recommend Alex going .

This was our first home and project so we were pretty nervous going into it, but Alex and his team have been amazing throughout. From organising trades people, to sourcing second hand materials for us, he has made the process so much simpler and faster at every stage. To cut down on costs I wanted to handle some of the work myself, which Alex was not only supportive of, but he also helped to advise me in areas I wasn’t as confident with. You can clearly see how much Alex cares about each project he’s a part of. It isn’t just a case of fitting in as much work as he can manage, and he genuinely takes pride in helping people to create their home.

Alex and his team (great cheerful guys) completed a single 3x4.5m ground floor extension to my townhouse. I wanted a simple and modern look to give our family more daytime space from our existing slightly cramped combined dining/living room As with 2 previous house modifications , there were the usual group of snags and delays (to expect otherwise is rather unrealistic - eg sewer pipes under proposed foundations, bad weather, chosen bricks becoming no longer available etc..) Most importantly is how Alex took ownership of the problems and tried to alleviate any stresses from our end. All was sorted in the end and the end result was outstanding. Alex is a very interesting man to bounce ideas off and help make all those exhausting myriad of decisions one needs to make during these types of projects. thanks again

Alex took on, and successfully completed, a full refit of a ‘loft’ apartment for me. I wanted a creative and collaborative approach that provided a simple, modern and stylish home. Along the way, we encountered all the usual snags, supply problems and surprises that are part and parcel of a major re-fit in todays market. Alex took them all in his stride even overcoming a difficult building control issue that threatened to stall the whole project. Post completion any ‘snagging’ issues have been dealt with promptly and without any quibbling. A conscientious and creative man and a pleasure to work with.

Alex and his team have just finished transforming my two bed one bath Clapham home in to a wonderful living space. I am so pleased with his vision and the results have far exceeded my expectations. My bedroom is now a perfect loft style haven with so much light. The newly open planned kitchen/living space is exactly what I wanted and he has created enough room for a further bedroom, shower room and office. His contractors were polite and tidy and we finished on time and within budget!

It has been very exciting to work with Alex during the design stage of a new extension. He is at once highly professional and amenable, knowledgeable and efficient, engaged and engaging. He has also been unstinting in his desire to offer us a range of creative options and provide clear and frank advice for the key decisions. Alex and his team worked very hard building a kitchen side extension and garden refresh for me in Hammersmith. The results are excellent. My budget was not the highest, but my expectations were and I looked around for a long while to find a crew who were prepared to deliver a high quality output at a reasonable price (where cutting costs by shoddy workmanship was not the solution to the price dilemma). Alex was able to mobilise his crew rapidly and before long we were underway. Now I have a bigger kitchen and beautiful courtyard garden, that I know is well made (I watched it very closely), spacious (they dug out tonnes of soil) & without any weird ceiling lumps and bumps (like other builders were promising would happen). The Positives: - The quality of work is fantastic and the rate of work is pretty good too. - Alex is extremely engaged in your project and wants to help you achieve your dream. He has immense experience with his background in architecture which he fully exploits in thinking around solutions. He enjoys coming up with clever ways round issues and does this well. He's also a very interesting guy. - Other builders guaranteed that my upstairs bathroom would need re-tiling because of the layout of the property. The Construct At, team worked out a way to prevent any cracks. I was very happy! -He worked well with other trades people ensuring that kitchen and door fitters were well serviced and that plans aligned. -When things don't go to plan, he is collaborative in seeking a way to solve issues aesthetically. -He has some good supporting partners able to challenge architects plans etc. -The building crew are very amiable and work incredibly hard and work isn't subcontracted to some random building crew. Alex watched over everything like a hawk. -Final results are robust, clever and aesthetically optimised. The challenges: - Knowing what you want is important to you so that you can direct the team towards your vision. In certain areas, things got technical (I had to catch up quickly). On these topics, Alex had lots of interesting, valid but contrary ideas to my vision. This resulted in me doing lots of internet research to find solution or validate my views with proof, as Alex can resist implementing solutions he doesn't have experience of. Because of that research, I often end up with a better solution than either of us started with. - His electrics partners created more hiccups than I would have liked, but we got there eventually with Alex's help. I am very happy with the new space I have. It has transformed the house to a family home. I am enormously thankful to have found Alex and his crew and am grateful for their hard work. I would recommend them.

Alex’s approach to quoting for our job was refreshingly collaborative. He added value both financially and environmentally by building on our brief using his wealth of experience. His approach is forward thinking and holistic. He provided a very clear quote and schedule of works and worked the way we, the client, wanted to work and didn’t just provide an out of the box quote and service.

I have know Alex for over 12 years. His technical ability and knowledge of vernacular architecture without disregard for the new technologies and designs is surprisingly strong. We look forward to keep collaborating in projects as before.

Alex has been an absolute rockstar throughout our project. Having started our development right in the peak of the Covid lockdown, he proved to be an efficient, organised and resilient contractor that managed to keep our project on track and within budget during very challenging times. He remained flexible and patient to our alterations and proposed creative solutions to any scope changes. Along with his site team, they all had an impressive attention to detail and superb finish throughout. Overall I view him as an integral part of our development's success and I will count on him for any future projects. I don't need to find anybody else now, he will be our lead contractor from now on. Alex provided significant input to the project right from the very beginning, bringing new ideas and thoughts and encouraging us to really define how we were going to use the space. Without his input we would have never have achieved the same output. He is extremely creative and brings a lot of fresh ideas to the conversation.

I have just started working with Alex and I am very impressed by the vision he has for my loft space. He has some great ideas and I am looking forward to the next phase of drawings and planning. From our conversations so far I have every faith in going forward on this journey together and that he and his team will deliver a first class finish within budget.

Alex has over the last 5 years contributed to the design, and overseen the technical build of both my loft conversion and ground floor side infill. My home is full of interesting and valuable items and his attitude to protecting these has been an important part in choosing him; combined with his flexible and ''out of the box'' approach to solving problems has made him the right choice for me. On both projects I gave Alex free-rein to explore different designs and present them. Although at times wide of the mark, he achieved several unique architonic and thoroughly contemporary visions; realising them during construction to the benefit of the build. He professionally made applications to the local authority for permissions and tendered the works to get a builder and price to suit my needs; he then diligently worked with me and administered the projects to deliver a good quality build. Moreover, still to this day, Alex and his team maintain the house with care and attention.

I invited Construct Atelier to coordinate the build of a ground floor 'L' 3m rear, 2m side extension. Alex came across as having just the flexibility of mind that I needed to help me with many of the broader structural and design decisions needed, as well as be able to assist with the sourcing of specific items. With a vast knowledge of architecture as well as build, he was able to ensure I got the most from my architect on the project as well as building control. Alex has been fantastic in his flexible approach to working through challenges, collaboratively, with me. Taking direction and advising strongly in equal measure.
