If you can't change the tile, change the plumber ... but seriously, have you had a second opinion? Maybe another plumber would get the job done. Otherwise, what about doing the floor in mother of pearl as well? Do you have a photo of the wetroom in its current state?

There are several things to consider when installing antique mirrored tiles. Because they are so shiny and reflective they will show the dirt more than a normal gloss ceramic tile. Also it’s important to check with your supplier that they are suitable for installation near heat or water. Essentially they are clear glass tiles with a backing which might react when exposed to certain things. Karen

I absolutely love hexagonal tiles. If it was my house I would install a window sill (many come primed, ready to paint) and then continue your tiling under the sill. I especially like the teeny tiny hexagonal tiles like this
