For functionality i like both because no large step over into shower. For the looks i like #2 the best...but is there a way to eliminate the (glass) shower doors altogether ?
You could always lose the glass, the only issue is splashing. Unless you have a huge Bathroom, the water will bounce off of you and onto the sanitaryware and furniture. Most Bathroom furniture is of course splash proof or water resistant, but over time some products will "blow" if exposed to large amounts of water over a prolonged time. Some people also like having glass as a design feature.
