Love it. Looks beautiful. I just can´t understand why anyone would choose a gas hob over an induction hob though. Induction looks so much neater, has the same functionality and is easy to clean.

It looks beautifully finished but I personally feel that the cupboards either side of the window look a bit clumsy and boxy. Shelves may have worked better and also I don't think the grey tiles go well with the units. I know grey is so fashionable at the moment, but I think a pale creamy/olive would have looked better. Apart from that, it looks great.

Ah yes, St James, I guessed it would have been the client´s choice. I´m just surprised that people find gas better. Induction is so quick and easy to adjust, just as gas is. I don´t do the cooking in my house, but I´m interested to know in what way gas has the edge?

Hello Marina, Well I do see your point from a certain aesthetic.. Ie if you want a really really minimal streamlined look... A sleek glass panel can be nicer than an industrial looking set of rings.. but equally a really beautiful chrome range oven is hard not to love.. Think Wolf! Or Smeg 6 burner.. I am sure there are some rather inferior looking electric plates though as there would be hobs or free standing models..

I imagined you didn't do the cooking.. as once you have used gas, there really is no beating it.. Electric takes a long time to heat up and if you want to flash fry something for example.. You just can't get that kind of heat with electric..

Same with Wok cooking and other examples where you really need a high flame.. Having said that.. I do quite a bit of oven cooking to use less gas..

i 100% agree with Victoria on the induction hob comment, its far superior to gas or conventional electric hobs. with gas you rely on a flame to heat the pot/pan, with electric you rely on an element, with induction, the pan is the element, hence why you need special pans. all you have under the glass with induction is conductors that excite the ferrous metal in the pan, causing the atoms to move rapidly, creating the heat instantly

a happy customer is all that matters at the end of the day, the workmanship looks great

Interesting idea Jules... I always think of subway tiles to be industrial looking but it does largely depend on what they're put with would you say.. even a tap can have a marked influence on the perceived style of the overall aesthetic, and style of sink, oven or hob.. I always go for a free standing oven, and suggest it! So it's nice to see what others do and consider..I like the idea of clear glass on a painted wall.. I think I might consider giving that a go at some point.. : ))
