What's the biggest renovation you've completed?
Comments (17)Hi Iona and thank you!!! I'm sure your house is going to look exactly how you'd like it and you'll enjoy it even more knowing how much thought you put into every little thing you've chosen. The jellyfish are mushrooms :)) My hubby and his brother love Susan Derges' photography (me too now!) - the mushrooms were bought at an auction. If you look again at the pics of our hallway, the blue print there is one of her camera-less photos; also the girl with the drops of water that's in front of the plant in the living room; as I said, we are all big fans of her work here :)) My brother-in-law spends most of his days on auction houses websites or browsing exhibitions... usually artnet is a good place to enquire about her photos http://www.artnet.com/artists/susan-derges/2 To be honest, until I met my guy and got sucked into 'the world of originals' (ha!) I was happy buying my prints and posters from online shops and then get the frames from Ikea (like the ones in my den): http://www.zazzle.co.uk/black+and+white+photo+posters http://www.art.co.uk/gallery/id--c23951/black-and-white-photography-art-prints.htm I also look at the Tate shop at least once a month; they get lots of great stuff, as well as some artists' sites, etc: http://shop.tate.org.uk/prints/prints-by-theme/icat/themedprints http://sableandox.co.uk/photography.html I also think these trees on stone would look great in a hall: http://www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/set-of-three-winter-trees---stone-wall-art-14635-p.asp Thanks again for all your kind words, you've made my day! :) Please share or ask for help, I did and got some great advice (from the US site). Comments (6)You have forget to put world number one water purifier in your kitchen to avoid the hassle of buying bottle water. It is economical, easy to install, easy to maintain and proevm by results. It goes under kitchen sink and produces purified water 24/7 straight from kitchen tap. Bluewater's systems are proving to be very popular throughout Europe, USA and China, as their reputation for build quality and reliability coupled with their Scandanavian flare for simplicity and sophistication of design, goes from strength to strength. The Spirit and Pro look equally at home in the world's top hotel kitchens and restaurants, as they do in the bespoke kitchens of London's finest dwellings. We believe that the Bluewater Cleone Spirit and Pro models would make a perfect match and would significantly compliment your kitchens in terms of performance, functionality, style and design....See MoreThrow your 2c in to our complete refurb! Comments (9)Here's a thought - I have two teenage kids and I have never known them or anyone elses kids to play in a "playroom" for more than half an hour especially on their own - they always gravitate to where you are! and will end up building lego on the kitchen table etc. and in the end you are happier having them "in sight" (Unless there is a host of other kids at your house as well.) So my advice would be to not lose valuable space to a designated playroom. Think about the activities you and your partner enjoy too! Do they need some designated space? It could be a room where a lot of toys are stored, sure (and its nice to close the door on it) but could it also be a room where the piano/craft table/office/homework desk/drum kit etc also live....See More'Midcentury style' – what does it make you think of?
Comments (25)ash4711 I agree, I grew up with a house full of Gplan teak furniture that my father bought from a complete Showhouse sale on one of his sites. I loved it then and still do, looking in so many design articles here and on other sites that style of teak furniture from the 20th century seems to come up most. Various members of my family still have most of that Showhouse furniture from the '70s....See MoreSussex Kitchen and Bedrooms
