Hello Karen, I love your Kitchen, lovely cabinets! This Kitchen features Traditional Style (from what I see). I personally like the glass panel splash back but this wouldn't go with your cabinets. However tiles, such as metro tiles, mosaic or patterned tiles would perfectly suit the style you have. I chose these images as an inspiration for you. Hi Carolyn. I think your kitchen looks great, love the styling of the shelves. Does the "splashback "on the oven come off? If not, and may be wrong(!), I think a splashback might look a bit odd. If you were to do anything I might add a splashback all the way across that wall up to the bottom of the first shelves but it would be good to see a pic including the ceiling. Your kitchen to me seems all about texture so I would actually avoid any type of coloured glass but add more interest with texture. I don't think it's needed though I would just clear a couple of things off the worktop add some wild flowers (good faux if necessary) and a potted herb or 2

Have you considered a mirror? This would not only work well with your colour scheme but would provide a more spacious feel by reflecting the colours already in your kitchen. If you felt more adventurous tinted mirror glass. When using glass behind a cooker you can use plain or toughened for heat resistance but ultimately what should be considered is durability. In this location where it is likely that pots and pans could knock the splashback toughened should used. If you commissioned us for this installation then toughened glass would be provided as standard and we could explore different options for glass colour or backings if mirror didn't take your fancy. Running the upstand behind the hob looks absolutely fine, seen it plenty of times and customers have always been happy, the only slight downside is large pans and woks can be up against the upstand as its thicker than your tiles but thats being really picky. Personnally i prefer this look then stopping the upstand, then stepping back for your splashback tiles and then stepping forward again and restarting the upstand and its easier to keep clean as well with no little corners for dirt to get trapped.
