Kitchen Tile Backsplash dilemma
Comments (7)Just an update on the backsplash dilemma that I had...I finally managed to find something nice and worthwhile. My dad and I did the tiling which was a steep learning curve as I never did this before in my life. But its an amazing feeling when you do something and it works out well in the end....See MoreOven backsplash ideas
Comments (11)Hello, Here are the following options you may go with: Metro Tile Ceramic Tile Stone Tile Ceramic Tile Glass Tile Stone Slab Mosaic Tile Porcelain Tile Metal Tile Matchstick Tile Mirror Cement Tile Terracotta Tile If you don't like tiles you can pick glass panels, mirror would look nice too or cement tile for a rough finish. It also depends what look would you like to achieve. I quite like the glass panel as you can get them in so many colours and they give a glossy finish to your kitchen. Stainless steel is also an option to go for. StJames Design Interiors...See Morekitchen dilemma
Comments (8)Chandra, No problem. Do you have room either side of the windows for a valence? I do like the idea but it would depend on the style and design. With the shelves. I like the idea but it depends on the style of kitchen. Looking at the unit fronts I think this will be a good idea. I would probably do blinds (a little higher then needed to give the illusion of more height) and then the shelf a little higher to fill the gap. If you were my client I would need to play around with some renders to see how cluttered and heavy they would make the space look with the dark cupboards and your lighting choice. With splash back again it would depend on the style and the accessories being placed with in the space. I would keep it light though. Possibly glass to add a little reflection. Minnie is correct though - if you have an up-stand, it's probably best to paint the walls instead of a splash back. A nice big island with breakfast bar would fit the space nicely. We look forward to the finishing pics. All the best, Gina...See MoreTile finish dilemma
Comments (9)Hi Really hard one to call but we personally have trouble with Tiler's. They are just not simply neat enough sometimes o things like trims and planning the cuts. All our guys a joiners and probably waste too much time on things like planning but it's so essential to get a good finish. I personally think there needs to be a better trim to use on those metro type tiles. The bevel causes loads of problems . It's hard to say don't pay him because having been there before on the fitting side I would of been devastated to not get paid but the fact is it simply isn't good enough . I would offer him to put it rite at no extra cost. Any decent tradesman would never leave a customer unhappy so I'm sure he will. Get him to use the correct trim for those tiles and cut it all neater . Not sure what you can do with the corner detail without buying new tiles and re-tiling. Not exactly answered any questions have we but just tell him your not happy and you just expect it all rectified. If your nice about it so will he. If you slag his work off you may find yourself in an argument. Good luck and post up the results. Brad V.I.P Walls Ltd...See MoreAdornas Kitchens & Interiors
