Living room - Which shade of coffee?
Comments (2)Hi. Thanks for taking the time to reply. When I said coffee I certainly didn't mean brown and I agree that it is dated. As you say, the room will effectively be a blank canvas which is great but it means I'm literally starting again. Yes I intend to paint and replace the carpet (I'm 30, current owners are close to 70) but struggling with where to start. I'd like the room to be warm and smart. I'd like it to be regal too (if that's possible!). Pastels seem a good idea. In my head I was thinking of a weak latte on the walls, brushed chrome fittings, white doors. Carpet over wooden floors is a must for me but I'm uncertain whether latte-ish paint would suit carpet and if so what colour. I'm also concerned that with it being a biggish room whether beiges, lattes etc might look a little tacky? So in short I'm open to ideas!...See MoreCoffee table?
Comments (4)Hi There, What a lovely space! I really like the way you are using the footstool as a coffee table already - it’s a really functional way of extra storage and seating in one. A suggestion would be to go for something that works with the traditional elements of the space, but has a bit of a contemporary edge too. This table form John Lewis has a beautiful warm wood tone that would pick up the colours in your sideboards. With its delicate frame work, it will make the space look more open allowing your eye to look through the brushed metal legs. Overall a very subtle and sophisticated design that will work perfectly with this lovely living room. http://bit.ly/2gpepWK I hope this helps and please let me know what you go for! Comments (4)Can you tell us more about the room: e.g. other furniture and overall styling? Your TV unit could go with a lot of options. Your decision for a coffee table could actually be driven more by the sofa and other pieces in the room. What I notice is that some of the pictures you have listed on the RHS are chunkier than others, some are taller. All of them are a painted wood style (but your TV unit is not). One of them has no drawers, another lacks the shelf that all the others have (is this important to you?) Other than that, there's not a lot in it for those you seem to be considering. But maybe people would have a different style to suggest, which might tie in well with the remainder your room?...See MoreCoffee table or a nest of coffee tables?
Comments (1)Sorry for the up and thx for the idea! I got the usual coffee table. If you got a coffee pot nearby, sometimes it's really hard to clean it up! After my wife's struggling I've found this article which is helpful for cleaning and comfort ideas! Take care and all the best!...See More- 11 years ago
