Bin the tiles, except the two feature ones, start again, use glass splash backs and get them to do cuts outs in the glass to incorporate the two feature tiles that way you can pick any kitchen you like. If you have to keep the brown tiles then take a look at painted doors in a sage green coupled with a black or grey worktop, should do nicely. DS KitchenKraft Designer UK.

Hi Liz I had a look at the images you posted, and I think a lovely green would be great on your kitchen walls! There is a great one, called Persian Green from Colourtrend, i think it has been discontinued on their current colour charts, but is still available to buy, its a lovely warm natural green and would be fab, looking out onto your garden from inside. The blue appears to make the room look slightly cool...so maybe stay away from blues and greys! Defo change the handles, and just plain white roller blinds, with a side winder, no frills, let the light in, clean and fresh too! Hope this helps ;)

Hi Luke, I can see why you might be a little uninspired by the kitchen doors - they do feel "dated", which I believe is a combination both of the particular wood grain and the handle itself - very 1980s! I am not myself a fan of the various paints and foils for kitchen doors - I've yet to find many people who have been overly impressed with the results, and indeed we occasionally have people coming to us to replace doors after painting, as they feel they've ended up worse! And in your case, the type of handle currently on the door means you can't easily add a different handle without totally replacing the drawer/door fronts - adding a handle on the current doors would just look plain weird, to be honest! Looking at what you have, my natural inclination would be to replace the doors with a "J Pull" gloss or matt door in either a white or a neutral colour such as limestone, cashmere or truffle. I'd leave the carcass sides exposed and, if the budget will stretch, go for either a white (white sparkle Minerva - really subtle and elegant!) or a wood-effect worktop that matches the carcasses. This "Scandi" style is very popular, really fresh and airy and should still look great in 10 years time! When looking at J-Pull doors, be aware that quality varies widely, though prices can sometimes be misleading!! Go for a good, deep fully lacquered/painted door, not a wrapped/edged version. If you wanted more info or an indication of costs, feel free to ask. As Sun Studio suggests, adding glass splashbacks would look great here (really work well with the Scandi style), though I'd suggest concentrating on sorting the doors/worktop first - splashbacks, lighting etc are easy enough to add later. Not sure what you have budgeted for the project, but I would really recommend the door/worktop change first - it will transform the space, and will add value without being overly expensive or time consuming. Hi - hope you don’t mind a non colour related remark? In order for the fridge doors to be able to own fully properly, you will need space the right of the FF, between it and the wall. So perhaps move the ff over one cupboard to the left and use the space that cupboard and wall units provided with a tall cabinet and top box instead. That will give the FF door the room it need to swing properly. ( and have ovens with recessed handles to avoid denting the FF door on the oven handles ) Also from a design perspective, that’s a lot of wall cabinets to have both sides ...It might be an idea to have the side with tall cabinetry ‘fully loaded ‘ with wall cabinets - but to keep the other side with just base cabinets and a ceiling installed extractor, therefore keeping it as clear as it can be - otherwise you may feel this is a very imposing and enclosed space. One last comment - then I’ll shut up and carry on rendering this project that I’m up early working on.... If you change the bulk of the drawer line base cabibets in to pan drawers ( one shallow and two deep) base cabinets. It makes them more accessible, rather than having to bend down to see what’s at the back of a dark base unit.
