Kitchen cabinet colour idea

I need a colour to paint my new kitchen cabinets. Right now the wood is just exposed and I'm having a hard time figuring whst colour to choose

If this were mine, I'd paint the whole thing white - it would look lovely and crisp against the green background

I agree with Sarah, and update the handles. What does the rest of the room look like?

Hi - hope you don’t mind a non colour related remark? In order for the fridge doors to be able to own fully properly, you will need space the right of the FF, between it and the wall. So perhaps move the ff over one cupboard to the left and use the space that cupboard and wall units provided with a tall cabinet and top box instead. That will give the FF door the room it need to swing properly. ( and have ovens with recessed handles to avoid denting the FF door on the oven handles ) Also from a design perspective, that’s a lot of wall cabinets to have both sides ...It might be an idea to have the side with tall cabinetry ‘fully loaded ‘ with wall cabinets - but to keep the other side with just base cabinets and a ceiling installed extractor, therefore keeping it as clear as it can be - otherwise you may feel this is a very imposing and enclosed space. One last comment - then I’ll shut up and carry on rendering this project that I’m up early working on.... If you change the bulk of the drawer line base cabibets in to pan drawers ( one shallow and two deep) base cabinets. It makes them more accessible, rather than having to bend down to see what’s at the back of a dark base unit.

yes its the wrong colour of kitchen for that space, so I see two options - make the white-on-white monochrome look intentional by adding even more off-white (nothing more cream than the cabinets and nothing more blue-white than the floor) - think chunky utensil holder, large vases, big bowl for fruit. other option is to introduce lots of colourful accents and ignore the wrong whites - I'd add a rug, colourful bowls/vases/towels/etc. give it some personality and make it your own and enjoy it! couple fixed areas that you could renovate fairly easily - remove the short kickstand at the back of the worktop and install a proper til backsplash - and/or paint the walls!

You are more than welcome Teresa, glad I can help. I can now completely understand why changing the panels would be a real hassle - it would essentially be taking the kitchen apart and reinstalling. As the panels are Wenge effect then painting will not be an issue at all. Just make sure you give them a good clean and wipe over with sugar soap before applying any primer/light sanding. If you are struggling to get a good colour match to the doors - it might be worth hunting down a company that specialises in paint colour matching. Explain to them that you are looking to paint end panels I'm assuming they are laminated/MFC and they should be able to guide you on what base would be best as well as the prep work involved to make sure the panels are as hardwearing as they can be. I think a pop of pink would be fabulous! That's the beauty of making the kitchen your own and adding colour with accessories - you can have what you love and if you change your mind years down the line you won't have to redo the whole kitchen. What sort of pink are you thinking? Do you have any artwork in the kitchen that has a small amount of pink that you could tie in? With the colour palette you have any kind of pink would work well in there, from a nice dusty rose, blush pink to a hot pink (if you are daring enough). I really like that wall unit. Wall colour? I would go with a simple off white like Timeless by Dulux. It’s a nice warm tone. I do have Dulux Polished Pebble in my bedroom. It’s a pale grey. Can look a bit lilac in a dark room, but it looks like you have good light. I find that wooden divide very heavy looking and I would remove it. Just my opinion. First pic is Timeless and second is Polished Pebble.

I agree crisp white and a change of handles would look great. Also a industrial grey would look amazing, especically with the exposed hardware. Obviously this all depends on the rest of your kitchen but you could be more extreme and apply something cheap like chipboard to the back and apply some fun wallpaper to make more of a feature of all the items that you will have on display.
