Tracey, those are encaustics which tend to be 18-20mm in depth, your wood will most likely be engineered ply if you have underfloor heating and depths vary 12mm upward. If one or the other substrate needs to be built up to accommodate the other that is possible. Be aware there will be some movement between the two, more so if you are using long boards, less with parquet, so consider how best to deal with any movement or expansion between the two. There are plenty of products available for this. Make sure your encaustics are sealed correctly. You could also find the cleaning regimen of the two finishes may be very different. Lithoflin for encaustics - and oil/wax for an oiled floor, that's not a great combination, so perhaps an easy maintenance wood might be better in the long run.

Good evening Iveta, even we are not based on your area we would love to help find you a solution for your extension and outdoor space. There are multiple options for what you need but first of all there are a few questions to ask. 1. What are you hoping to install the tiles on externally? 2. Do you need a grip finish (advisable with children or if there is chance for build up on the tiles) 3. Are you looking for a 10mm internal and 20mm external tile? I think we have a 300x1200 20mm plank available to us with a 10mm internal option which isn't currently on our website. We would be more than happy to send you samples down to have a look at and offer further advise on your installation. Please take a look at the link here to a few of our wood effect tile collections. http://www.casaceramica.co.uk/style/wood/ You can contact us through the site and we'll offer up further suggestions and answer any questions you may have. We will look forward to hearing from you.

Have you though about using a luxury vinyl tile such as Karndean or Amitico? With the right floor prep you could end up with a very neat finish where it meets the tiles and not worry about expansion gaps. The wood effect versions of luxury vinyl can be very realistic and extremely hard wearing. I have used this product quite a bit in recent months even completing a gym in my own house just this week. www.fusionfloors.co.uk

I had this myself recently - I ended up I did go with a wooden table - a vintage one with multiple shades so it would still contrast and not look too much/samey. I also put a jute rug beneath mine and once you dress the top with a runner and a plant/vase etc it looks great. Alternatively white always works and I love concrete but expensive - concrete resin - metal can also be a good option - I wouldn't go with glass - I feel it's dated.
