I had thought the correct order was:
first the range
then the counters (so counters are templated with range in place)
then the backsplash
then the hood (we are tiling behind the hood)
But if hood is last it has to be held up over the range-- awkward. And we cannot do the burn off on the range til hood is installed.
Anyone have any other ideas or thoughts about this?
