Comments (3)Hi, Yes the chimney is still open and a wood burning stove option is a route we're looking to go down. Just not sure about the finish. Comments (2)I like the quarry tiled hearth, I think it gives warmth and character. I recently plastered over a monster of a fireplace and decided to keep my quarry tiles even though my husband hated them. they now look right with the smooth plaster and we are glad we kept them. Comments (18)For me it is the ceiling to floor tiled wall that can transform this fireplace, like on the pictures above. f the wall was to stay as it is, I'd change the fireplace hearth surround to a more compact one as it seems to take too much space as it is at the moment.
