outside mount vertical blinds

Hi, I'm just about to purchase a new build property which comes with blinds included. The company have just informed me that they can't fit the blinds inside the reece as the gap between the top of the door and the reece isn't big enough as the doors open inward. My question is how much more expensive are the blinds that fit perfect into the window? and the other question is can you fit vertical blinds like curtains on the outside of the reece and if so have you got any photos to see how this looks?
