Hi, Since your garden is quite long and narrow, I think it would be nice to add some horizontal lines. So you could do something like this: add a raised border just behind the existing patio (redo that one) and along the fence, then behind that first raised border have another patio (either decking or gravel) and let that material run the width of the garden, cutting through the long path, and behind that patio another raised border. Just in front of the shed you could do another narrow stretch of the material you used for the extra patio, again running the width of the garden. You'll only need a small tree to block the view. Clematis would cover the trellis and give you pretty flowers. I think this will be easy maintenance. If you prefer you could have grass instead of the second patio. I would then have that running the width of the garden and do stepping stones where the path now is. (Ignore the size and direction of the decking, it's just to illustrate what I mean)

Bamboo can be a good idea if you buy the right type. Fargesia varieties are clumping bamboos so although a clump will grow bigger over time it won’t run rampant and grow everywhere on your garden. With a limited budget, you might have to be prepared to buy smaller plants and let them grow to create screening over time. Maybe a couple of larger plants or trees would help to start you off then fill in with others. Some are faster growing than others. Think about placement of plants to create the most privacy.
