What colour window frames

As you can see our house is quite dark and we are looking to brighten and modernise it. The 3 middle sets of windows are being turned into bi-fold doors, the black posts to the balconies are oak and will be sand blasted back to their natural colour. However we do not know what colour to 'paint' the windows. They are wooded frames, but stripped and then oiled they are quite orange, so another option is to paint them, however we have no idea what colour would work against the red/brown brick of the house. We can make the bi-fold doors the same colour. Also do we change the facia colour, as they are very dark brown at the minute. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have a beautiful home,and there seems to be a lot of windows.
I too am changing my windows but before I made a decision I took a picture of my house and got a friend to photoshop the style of window that I liked and also to change the colour until I was happy,I just thought with such a big purchase it was worth it.
White would work well I'm sure,but here's a picture with something of a slightly different look,hope it helps and good luck.

Thank you that's really helpful and I absolutely love the colour of the windows in your pic. They have a slightly lighter brick than us, so I am going to do exactly what you say and photo shop the colour onto the photo and a front on photo too and see how it looks. Thank you for taking the time and for the advice.

When I look at the colours together I definitely lean towards lichen. I do however personally like a lighter colour with stone though so think I'm erring towards french gray, which is a great colour. I'd get some testers, they'll both look great. What was your husbands verdict, he seems to have been outnumbered?! I assume you need permission anyway to paint so there will be a long wait for pics?!

Hello Emmeline, I have black and a dark charcoal in the kitchen .. In the living room it's black and then a kind of greyish mauve which I make myself.. Most of the woodwork is painted with a colour I made myself.. My front door is charcoal by fired earth.. It's lovely with brass hardware.. :))

LTS yes I think it's too dark. It does have elegance but also gloomy, especially at night! I've had quite a few neighbours say these like it, but some also feel too dark. I'm literally stuck trying to find the right colour! The roof (currently) is slte but has a reddish/purple hue so along with the slight cool blue hue to the white render it's proving tricky!!

This may well be the same colour as above but farrow and ball french gray looks great on exterior woodwork (it's more green than grey so goes well with red)

Thank you Minnie101, I can get a tester pot and give it a try. Sometimes it's just difficult to know where to start. Thank you very much for your advice.
