Good kitchen plan?
Comments (108)Thanks so much! I took a look at the page but couldn’t quite figure it out..so the cupboards on the wall are standard wall cupboards (I guess 60cm deep?). The banquet is then built out below that? So there is 60cm of hollow space behind the seat under the wall cupboards? Sorry if I’m asking a silly question! We’ve been looking at building a stud wall to hide some stuff but this could work much better, just feel that the hollow space could possibly be put to use to store something!...See MoreSplash back tiles
Comments (19)Colourhappy sinking the fridge in the wall is my plan, just not right away. I don't even have to steal space, it'll fit into the 'triangle' but I would need to take the kitchen door away and move the utility door. I'll make do by adding an end panel to the right of it to blend it away when seen from in the dining room. Right now it has to stay where it is. As for tiles, I'm somewhat stuck because the worktop has a marbled vein though it. It's white but not brilliant white and next to white wall tiles, it'll look vanilla. The veining through it is grey with a tiny touch of copper/burnt orange through it. Hence why it's called Calacatta gold. I live metro tiles but it's to right here. There is herringbone on the floor so though I do live patterned tiles, again it needs to be simple. Right now I'm considering a glass slab. Any thoughts on that?...See MoreKitchen Splash back ideas
Comments (19)Hi. The kitchen looks great, where did the fridge end up going?! I like the tiles, they will go with the units and the prism shape mirrors the table. I also like the idea of adding a different texture however I don't think the different shades of white work together (on my screen anyway!) so would look for a different shade of white . How big is the veining as choosing a different scale for the prism tile would work? You could also consider a grey grout. I'm not sure my pictures help but just showing a tile laid in a pattern with a veined worktop and sandwiching a black worktop with white units and tiles. I love the angel and boho bench, I've posted that so many times on here! These chairs aren't a wishbone and no longer available (!) but maybe a wishbone could work or something similar in shape? I might also paint the utility door in the wall colour to help it blend in?...See MoreKitchen antique mirror splash back help
Comments (21)Saw an article on Apartment Therapy talking about mirrored splashbacks recently. Had some lovely photos featured, I personally preferred the options where the glass is raised up from the hob slightly. Could you maybe get a piece of the upstand cut to fill the gap? Also having it 'framed' by wall either side looks better to me than it spanning the whole space. I've mocked it up to extractor fan level and to ceiling level (I've guesstimated the tile scale but hope it gives you the idea). Personally I prefer the latter in this space as the proportions look better. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/mirror-backsplash-ideas-that-arent-from-the-70s-or-80s-248551...See Moreminnie101
