There are specialist paints for concrete, so I think that will be possible. There are also heat resistant paints for painting cast iron log burners which you could use on the concrete as well.

Hi guys, we are thinking about installing a log burner in our lounge, the only issue is our lounge is sort of at the front and side of our home, I’ll attach photos to try and explain better. We’d like to install the log burner maybe on the front wall? What’s the shortest flue length we could have? Could we just exit the first floor roof? Eventually we’d like to build ontop of the lounge roof to make another bedroom upstairs? Any info would be great! Cheers,

Here's food for thought......Everyone, or just about everyone, is doing white fireplaces and log burners. Not everyone has a gorgeous, and likely original, fireplace. So would you rather have a room that looks like everyone else's or a room that is individual? If it is the simplicity of your inspiration rooms that is appealing..... then simplify the room around the fireplace. Edit the items in the room to reduce contrast, you might then find that with a simplified room is more to your desired look.

Looking to replace log burner with a depth of 200mm and rear flue. Can anyone suggest a log burner or multi fuel stove with a similar small depth so that we do not need to replace the fireplace due to small size of hearth. Thanks
