Hi. Yes, I would paint the wardrobes and it really depends on the colour of the other walls. If you paint them the same colour as the wall they are on then they will appear to be apart of the wall and will be far less imposing. The mix match of woods doesn't help so I would look at changing this to have one wood and the painted if possible. I would add height to the room to help with the look, mirror the length in the wardrobes opposite drawing your eye up the space, with taller more imposing bedside lamps.

I agree add some colour and texture with a throw, cushions and a bench or even a small sofa at the end of bed, with more cushions will add a real wow factor. You could consider bigger bedside lights too. You've created a really lovely serene looking bedroom.

The Bonaldo bed comes in one piece so if you are seriously considering it you would definitely need good access! Also it does not have slats, its a platform base so some people don't find it as comfy,
