@nataliepatton - Yes please!

sword fish steak with a salad

Asparagus and grilled salmon steak! Can't wait for better weather here in the UK!

Although now living in London, can't take the Sydney out of the girl ... mango season is summer! as well as all the other lovely summer fruit like watermelon, peaches, plums and nectarines! Also time for fresh seafood especially prawns with luscious salads! Of course BBQs and good times at the beach with friends ... sigh!

I agree with Jane but would ditch the balsamic and it has to be a glass of rose or prosecco! King prawns in garlic with french bread is a classic ( normally better in France though!) and a nice crab mayonnaise sandwich preferably in Devon! Also love swordfish with salsa verde or grilled halloumi on the BBQ

A lovely salad made up from all sort of interesting and delicious ingredients.

Lamb marinated in olive oil, garlic and rosemary, grilled on the old cast iron griddle or BBQ. Then stuffed into pitta or wraps with salad and schloads of Tzatziki - yum tiddle nom nom!! and guilt free when the Tzatziki is home made with 0% fat Greek yoghurt. Or so I tell myself!

@JMLGardenRooms - couldn't agree more!

These all sounds amazing - you're all invited to any garden parties I have this summer!

Oh I am soooo hungry now!

I loved all the suggestions but can I be party pooper and say no to the BBQ. The smell of burning fat is quite anti social. The neighbours are enjoying their glass of subtle rose, while peeling plump prawns and the smell comes over the boundary, ugh! Cook in and take outside. BBQ belongs where everybody is doing the same thing or miles away from anybody. How do vegetarians cope with the meat aromas? I know I am not alone in this really, but difficult to say out loud given the onslaught of BBQ info. Bon appetite.

@k11agl - I'd love to see a picture of the food, and I'm sorry you're having trouble uploading images! If you want to submit a support ticket here, our team will look into it for you.

@AnnEllis - I really do sympathise with vegetarians, but I suppose there's no real way of grouping residential areas into BBQ/non-BBQ - it's summer so it's likely to be everywhere! That said, a BBQ in the woods is always a good idea...

@GraemeSutton - that sounds like my kind of evening!

Tom I managed to use a desktop - lucky you! I found one of the seabass too - my two year old ate half of it!! The seafood were from Cafe du Turin in Nice, I can't remember the name of the place where we had the lovely Nice Specialty dish there, but that Salade Nicoise was the best you could get. Anyone going to Nice definitely try out!

I love cheese and egg salad with mayonnaise. Simple and delish!
