There are 2 shelves which currently have pans on them. I was wondering about Kilner jars, one for knives, one for forks, etc. the tea towels may well be in a nice basket for the time being. It's funny. I love this house so much and can't wait to live there yet this drawer business is really playing in my mind!

I did wonder if I could get away with paint instead of tiles. The room is just too small for two tables. One wall will be bare to free up space. One wall is the understairs cupboard, where the fridge freezer will be, one wall has the window and sink, one will have the cooker in the chimney breast and a full height pantry in one of the niches. The other niche I was planning to put kitchen units including a corner unit connected to the sink unit. Here's a plan which also shows how the current kitchen will be converted into a shower room and utility.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about kitchen artwork. I forgot to say, I think my mom slip liner came from IKEA, or possibly Lakeland. We don’t have a corner carousel, we find we can store more without one. In a previous house I had light weight things like mixing bowls on a carousel as we found glass and ceramic things were too heavy and made the carousel run lop sided. There’s usually room in the corners to fit in a few odd items too, and shallow dishes can go on the cupboard floor underneath the carousel. But I wouldn’t have a carousel again, too much space wasted for me.
