I have to say I'm a BIG fan of purple!! in fact our Summer Edition is a purple floral number and I have to say would look great in this space.....although perhaps a Saxony pod covered in our waterproof blueberry suede would be more practical, next to the roll top bath!!

I really don't like purple in interiors ever. I love it in gardens, and love the North Yorkshire Moors heather where I grew up but I can't warm to it in interiors. I can tolerate a bit of dirty purple (ie Brinjal or Pelt) but not dairy milk purple.

when i was 16 i had my bedroom painted in purple, 2 shades, i loved it, my gr parents did not but went along with me.. it is a very popular colour here now 50 plus yrs later.

I love purple! You have to be selective about how you introduce it to a room. We've recently purchased a gorgeous purple velvet chesterfield sofa. Can't wait to see how it transforms our front room.

We do - just used it on new build Dutch Barn - on the chimney breast only.

I love purple as a neutral, I'm currently looking for a purple sofa (I wouldn't want a grey sofa for example - the same way I would have a purple winter coat but not a grey one). I think it's too dark and heavy for walls but it's sumptuous and rich so I like to use it to bring out/accent and ground other colours (like reds, pinks, oranges). I have a couple of purple cushions on my pink sofa, one in silk, one in velvet. I love rich clear Cadbury's purple, a royal purple, rather than anything muted.

I had a friend at university who loved purple and had her whole room decorated in it ... it looked great but a bit too much for me but that's from someone who had an entirely red room, red walls, bed, and accessories as a teenager... a white ceiling made the difference.

I love purple irises with yellow roses (or tulips) so that's another way to have it in a home.

In small doses. Can be beautiful and sophisticated but it's no coincidence that it's also the colour of Lent.

Hello Tom, Well I have to say I do like purple... BUT it all depends on what purple and having said that- this goes for any colour and sheen... I am a chalky colour person for walls... ... So it's a personal thing but... Also it's how you use a colour that can have a transformative effect, along with what you put with it... So the top three I love but the bottom, I find just ghastly along with the furnishings.. They are different shades of purple granted (the third one is close to dark grey) but you see the point I'm trying to make.... : ))

I love mulberries and aubergines but hate purple. It's all in the toning! However, even the shades I do like would be used sparingly on accessories rather than big spaces.

Purple always makes its way into my paintings! We had a sitting room decorated in a golden straw colour with deep plum and purple accents. I loved it!

I have a purple wall in my small sitting room, the rest are cream, as are the curtains. The colour is a feature wall paint from Crown and a beautiful quality paint - I always find its much better quality than Dulux myself.
