Recently we've seen a surge in all things pink, and whilst we don't want to say it's all down to Nigella, it seems everyone's thinking things look prettier in pink.

But are you one of them? Tell us what you think of pink interiors - trend or one that should end?

Hot pink is fab and I like the odd pale pink touch, I adore my rose pink pom pom trim.

I have a purple wall in my small sitting room, the rest are cream, as are the curtains. The colour is a feature wall paint from Crown and a beautiful quality paint - I always find its much better quality than Dulux myself. My husband was not sure at first, but when we moved in it was so bland. The mismatch of gold picture frames/large mirror I had packed away from the late eighties/nineties came out again and really work on this wall! When we move to our new house, I plan to have at least one aubergine wall, as the fabric I've selected has some of that shade in it (I bought a 40 metre roll of overstock designer fabric on ebay at a fantastic price). At the moment I'm thinking aubergine in the hall perhaps as the floor is grey slate and the trim is all natural waxed pine, but we'll see if I'm that brave.

In the right setting, a one-off feature item in a gold colour, such as a marble fireplace looks stunning! Or for a more subtle look, why not have a bespoke made table top or vanity top in a pale marble with gold coloured veining such as the Calacatta Oro? Let us know what you think! Helen

I adore red, it's my favourite colour by far and is all over my wardrobe. I even have red glasses, it's kind of a signature thing of mine. When my partner and I recently bought our first flat we had to redecorate it all very quickly and went with quite neutral shades throughout: oak wood, white, black and grey. We then added touches of red in kitchen accessories, curtains, cushions and finally red carpet in the corridor, staircase and landing to tie it altogether. The only rooms which have no red are our 2 bathrooms as I like them better crisp and neutral.

Seems like it's quite the divider! I have to say, a dash of dusty wouldn't go completely amiss for me, but I agree it has to be in very small doses!

I painted my north facing kitchen bubblegum pink on a whim (it was supposed to be a classy browny sludge colour)

Best. Decision. Ever. Such a happy sunny room to spend time in and truly the heart of the home.

It also encouraged me to branch out into colour more bravely and my house is a riot now!

No pink in my house and there won't be either. For me, there are lots of other interesting colours available but I could imagine , if the balance is right with the right shades, it could work.

I really think pink is having a bit of moment and is a colour that's operating outside of a gender sphere and we're starting to see it become much more of a neutral shade - who doesn't love a touch of pink here and there? Ps. it looks great on us guys too :)

Gentle pinks are soothing and mood lifting. Have previously posted pics of my pink (ahem....lavender) hall and nearly finished stairs, but here they are again. The pink also have the foible of looking different again at night.

I really dislike pink in any shade. Whether that's decor, accessories or clothing. I also dislike lilacs.

I never used to hate pink so much, I think it's the 'pretty pink princess' generation that's put me me right off

Love pink! I read an American interiors mag which showed pale pink being used instead of white and it looked AMAZING. When we reach our final home I am having pink kitchen and chintz curtains!!! Can't wait

We highlighted our grey and white kitchen with a bright pink blind, curtains and rug. It really works!

Go easy with. As an accent colour, with grey or even jumbled up with reds and oranges it can bring a scheme to life but on the rare occasions I have seen a fuschia-pink-painted room, it just brings to mind public toilets.

I love Pink. I dyed my hair purple and hated it till a month later after washing my hair the color changed to a light pink and I wanted it to stay FOREVER, It suited me also.

No. The colour annoys me. Any shade of pink makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't have any pink in my place, not even in my garden.

Vanadis is right. Pink (with a purple tinge) looks good with red (with an orange tinge) and orange. Very sixties but can work, especially on fabric.

Pink is something that can look really stunning and sophisticated when used well but can look really cheap and tacky in a Barbie doll way when not. I have to say I'm loving it and am using it (sparingly) in a few of my current jobs. It looks amazing with grays and greens.

Definitely a trend that I love! Had a ice cream pink kitchen some years ago, new kitchen is snow white with silver and oh so incredibly boring and blah - same as all the new houses and I would love to have pale pink.

I'm working on a job for a client who wears a lot of pink so I've been playing around with raspberries and mulberries, which can work fabulously well with greys, for instance....it doesn't have to be girlie, in fact with beautiful mirrors and sleek modern furniture, is can look really glamourous.

Cerise bathroom accessories picked out because I found a fabric end that I used for the bathroom blind. The rest of the bathroom is apple blossom with extra white mixed in. When I started painting the bathroom I had no intention of using cerise pink until I found the blind fabric. I even painted the bathroom cabinet in a very pale pink inset with some even paler apple blossom on the door and over painted with a copper shimmer. I never wear pink as a redhead but it sure seems to work in the bathroom.

Does my profile picture answer the question? I love pink. One of favourite pieces of furniture is a shocking pink chaise longue in my sagey-green lounge, looks wonderful.

Cerise Pink is a stunning colour if used Well. Some people just seem to have the eye for placing it on the right wall, and in a minimal way to achieve a stunning look. I don't like the look in some bathrooms or kitchens I have seen. Good luck to those who try this colour out.

Had a pink kitchen in a rental years ago. Hated it! Changed the quality of light in the room and also colour of food!!

For me it is a bedroom colour option, and fabric of choice is toile de jouy, pink on Ivory. Cushions with bobble trim and soft pink lampshades make it boudoir friendly. Little princesses rock this idea too with children patterned toile or pale pink faux silk drapes.

Hot pink is best avoided in large doses but works as a colour pop against grey

Love, love, love pink ... I wear it all the time ... strong bold pink, with red! and have it in several rooms in my house ... very bold, luscious, feminine and fun ... and often features in my paintings.

I agree above, it's not a great kitchen colour ... reds, oranges and yellows better in a kitchen if you want bold colour ... think of nature, not much pink food.

I love it in the living room, the bedroom, a bit in the hallway ... very luscious and, on me.

pink in bedroom and bathroom is very flattering to most skin colours. and who wants to look at themselves looking sallow and ill every morning? choose your pink to warm your own skin tone and look your best every day.

a tip - try strong pinks for dark skin and peachy pinky white for very pale. drape fabric swatches over your upper body, and check in the mirror in different lights [daylight/artificial]. the right colour will make your eyes pop and your skin glow. find the right shade then get it colour matched.

I love pink. It can be used in so many different ways. A cerise pink to create a modern look a surgery pale pink for a little girls room or with accents of other colours to create a calm yet original room...

Here goes - don't be too harsh! 30 years ago I chose a kitchen tile for my work tops/splashback which was white with pink diagonal corners. It's still here. The White tiled floor which had a pink inner row has been replaced with slate. This meant that I needed to paint my oh so sturdy kitchen units, but needed something to marry both the pink in the tiles and the greeny/blue slate. I opted for 'Hebridean Mist', a Crown or Dulux mixer colour, love it and still love my kitchen. Now it gets a bit mad. I have pink fur string lights hanging in a clump, cup hooks displaying about 30 utterly crazy 'pink' items - cats, pigs, flamingoes etc etc and, the icing on the cake, a pink fridge freezer! Ta Da.

My lounge has been dusky pink for a few years now and I have lilac/lavender accessories. Unashamedly girly but I love it. Not keen on Barbie pink though!

Love pink in any shade - not too much - just a splash! Have just planted pale pink indoor headily scented hyacinth bulbs ready to come out after Christmas!

Hi,

there's a common mistake about people asking if you like this colour or not, this decor object or another, or what's the best colour for my space. It all depends on what you want to achieve.

In this case, according to the style and furniture selection, this pastel pink is such a nice touch. It's not about the colour, it's about pastel. If the owner would have chosen a blue or green pastel the result would be the same. At this point, with the style and features chosen, it's just a matter of personal taste to choose between certain pastel colours.

Even though I don't like this style or soft pink, I must say it's a very good job as the space harmonious, soft and warm, with a good style balance (not too classic nor modern).

We love pink interiors, the softer the tones the better though, especially in interiors... unless you wanting to add a vibrant colour pop then go wild!

Not too keen on pink! Even my daughter was hardly ever dressed in the colour when younger / baby! Yet, I have to admit that sometimes it looks surprisingly good!
