Help for my tiny bathroom?
Comments (21)Hi, Our bathroom was very simulator this and we hated the lack of floor space. We installed a gorgeous shower across the window wall and tiled around the window to protect it from moisture. It's been great so far. Then we moved the toilet to behind the door and put in a smaller countertop sink next to it. We also had the problem of working around the airing cupboard. Taking out the bath was controversial but it hasn't bothered us yet& it's better than walking straight into the bath when you open the door like we used to. We felt that a good quality shower would make the house more saleable in future that a pokey bathroom....See MoreDesperately need help with master bathroom! Please!
Comments (1)When I plan, i like to try to visualise exactly what will greet me when i open the door. In this case I chose not to see either the toilet or bidet, and to give the persons using those a little privacy. ( I'm guessing that plumbing requirements dictate that the soil pipe be near to the outside wall with the window on it. ) Therefore, upon opening the door, straight ahead is the double vanity with low (false ) wall behind it ( i made mine 1.2 Metres high ), This gives way to room for possibly a small shelf etc upon which to put soap etc. It also disguises behind it, the toilet and bidet, now not visible from the door. The toilet roll holder will site on the wall on the left next to the toilet. You also have room to hang towels on the wall to the left of the basins. The bath went in the top right corner ( and drains straight through the outside wall ) . Then to the immediate right upon opening the door, a large walk in shower. The towel radiator sits between the shower and the bath and is easily accessible from both. Maybe that would work for you?...See MoreNeed help with Small Bathroom please.
Comments (14)I agree, make the plans and keep them. Also, we had a slightly similar problem - we used to live in a 5-bed house but as we don't like cooking or entertaining in the kitchen, we only put a lovely, small separate kitchen (the size you'd find in a 2-bed flat). That did put families off. However, we got several offers from people without children. It went for over the asking price within a week. I think it might be a similar for you. Also, families with small children need good access to the bath + extra storage for toys and other paraphernalia so your bathroom might struggle even with a bath in....See MoreNeed your help with this bathroom! Comments (15)I am not sure the loo has to be on the outside wall - it could be anywhere, you just have to box in the large pipe that will run from it to the outside wall. I know it's irritating when people say start again but the room seems a bit bitty and if the basin and loo were in a run of units, separated by small cupboards, with a continuous surface along the top of the whole run, it would look really rather sleek. And the pipe could run under the units, hidden by it - that's what I've done in my bathroom. Stick a mirror above the units, covering the whole wall from surface to ceiling, and side to side, and it will make the room seem much bigger. Are you having a towel radiator in there? That will add some character if you have towels that complement the colours you choose. Then add some interesting bits and pieces to make it seem less utilitarian....See Morepetitourson
