Hi there is a product from sika called mould buster which can be applied and left and should help remove the spots of mould on the paving it is a low toxicity product, so should not cause any harm in drainage or to plants.

Looks like rust staining which can happen with sandstone and other natural stone. Try the website www.thepavingexpert.com which gives lots of advice. Their returns policy does not seem to comply with Distance Selling Regulations. When buying something online and unseen, you have the right to return the item without even giving a reason, as long as it is done within 30 days. These are your statutory rights. This doesn’t apply with underwear, pillows and personalised items but pretty much everything else. Obviously paving is more difficult to return but they must have a system for dealing with this and it must crop up sometimes. I would contact the Citizens Advice for help and further advice. I do hope it is sorted soon.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, yeah gravel seems to be the cheapest route, was thinking the pavers and gravel would get around the mess they can cause, just not sure if the border would look odd. @Nik Nelberg, I had thought about this, I have seen people build the pillar behind/into the wall to create a wider opening, but it would just be abit of extra cost. @Jen, unfortunately the neighbours extended their drive long before I moved in and they have a great sized opening, as a result they are wanting to keep the shared pillar. What a gorgeous house, I think I’m in love! Is it Arts & Crafts? I wouldn’t do much, maybe brighten up the render to a soft white as Jonathan suggests, paint the front door a nice blue or green. The drive is in very good condition so why change it? The problem with brick pavers is the weeds love to grow through the grout and it’s a nightmare to weed. You could try a resin gravel drive but they are pretty pricey. Look lovely though. You have some lovely greenery around but you could ahh a few lovely Himalayan silver birch trees along the drive, not too near in case of root spread. For more colour you can’t go wrong with roses dotted about in any gaps in the borders. David Austins have some beautiful ones, just look for disease resistant ones with a bit of height. I’ve bought from them online and the roses were fantastic quality and very well packaged. Door below is Inchyra Blue by F&B. You could also not do a thing as it’s so lovely!
