Hello Filza87, Welcome! Yes Roman blinds will work of course, and whatever your preferences are. White or off white and plain would be my suggestion here keeping it light as it's a smaller area.. Something like a linen.. For flowers I would suggest whites or peachy tones with foliage and possibly something inky.. Like a bluish mauve.....Some of these within would be nice as they add a little touch of a darker colour to compliment the dark chairs.. http://www.okadirect.com/viburnum-berry-stem-deep-purple.aspx?vid=npx069prm-0 and these... http://www.okadirect.com/faux-casa-blanca-lily-flower-stem.aspx?vid=npx073wht-0 http://www.okadirect.com/faux-delphinium-single-flower-stem.aspx?vid=npx072wht-0 You can ask them to make the arrangement for you and even take in a vase of your choosing if you aren't buying one.. They will make it and tape it so you can simply untie and sit as it has been put together if you don't want to do them yourself.. Not pink really for flower colour I'd say.. but again... It's what you like that matters.. With the chairs, try spreading them out so one at either head of table and one either side.. Depending on how many are used at any one time, a couple could be situated near the walls with a cushion for decoration, if there is room, something like either side of a doorway for example... This spreads out the black a bit more.. For cushions look at rectangular or square and plain linen.. Creams or off whites would be my suggestion and plain with washable covers.. and button backs are nice but again, whatever you like really.. . : ))

Hi Zach, I have read through the comments and was looking to see if you rearranged the room to incorporate a table. However, with the layout as is, you may want to consider a Console table that turns into a Dining Table. There are loads at varying price points to choose from. I have added a contemporary style below that may be of use with your scheme. This table is on offer, reduced by 30% to £192.50 from http://www.laredoute.co.uk/ Gallina Folding Console Dining Table. What I like about it is the position of the legs and the light oak may compliment your Ercol side table etc. (It also comes in grey). It can be used as a Desk with the chair facing the wall , or as a daily Dining Table with one chair against the back positioned on the Kitchen wall and the other facing the wall. When you do have guests for a dinner party, you can adjust the Living room and just pull out the table out and add two folding chairs (that are stored elsewhere). Personally, I love the colour of the Living Room and would continue this colour all around the room and under the stairs as it would help to make the room appear larger. It also appears to be a bright room and with your light coloured flooring and armchair, would look great. With regard to lighting. I see you have a power point under the stairs. Before painting, I would ask your Electrician to channel up the wall, add a funky, contemporary wall light and make good. This would allow you to have a dimmable wall light that you could use as a task light and dim for a more intimate dinner. David Village Lighting have a great website and I have used them on many occasions. You may want to take a look at Artemide on their site. The alternative, if you did not want to use the same colour paint throughout the room would be to add a funky geometric wipeable or vinyl wallpaper. I love Elitis, Cole and Son, Tektura, etc. As you would need such a small amount, it would not be too costly. Elitis have some funky options and Cole and Son Geometric and Geometric ll could look great and have the tones that could compliment the style of your room. With regard to the two chairs that would sit by the table on a daily basis. I would potentially look at a couple of replica sites . i.e. Swiveluk.com, Bluesuntree, Vertigo etc. and pick chairs that are not too wide. (Ideally stackable). For reference, I did a job where we stored the two spare stackable chairs in the bedroom where we installed a storage bed with loads of storage under the mattress. Good luck with everything:-) Susan

The kitchen looks lovely. I like the table and it works well with the lights and I'd put the eames chairs with it or a mix of chairs (an old church chair is good for keeping kids colouring in stuff in but not sure of their age! ) What wood were you looking at? However having said that, your table is butt against the bar and the legs on this table are wider than the top so if you went for this one I think you'd need to go for a short table. As kikiamack said pedestal tables are good although hard to find a rectangular one (!) or as colourhappy said an old farmhouse one would work. Would an extending table also be an option? How many do you need to seat on a regular basis? Are the lights centred over the bench?

I came across a product recently at the Clerkenwell Design Week, which I thought was rather fun, especially as it is 100% recycled material, made in the UK, has a multitude of colour options, comes with a 20 year warranty and can be recycled at the end of its usefulness. Have a look at http://www.kieurope.com/Postura/ It was developed for the education market, but is surprisingly comfortable to sit on.
