Please helpe bed behind window

I have a bed behind window with very low night stand tables , I'm confused what lighting method would be sutable table lamp or wall once .????
and what about the window , I'm thinking about using a curtain like that in the 2nd photo but not the same colours for sure by the way for the curtains colour I'm thinking of the same colour of the other wall same as in the 3rd photo, but I don't know what colour would be matching for the rolling up blackout blinds curtains as I wish to use cuz I hate light on the morning , so what do think guys ???
what about the bed linen colours and design , is it matching the overall design colours??? or should I have to change it??
helpe me pleaaaaaaase ?

Comments (31)I had a similar situation in a house I moved into years ago. I did a quick fix of painting all of the walls, woodword and the cupboards the same shade of cream. Sounds a bit OTT but it really knocked back the cupboards, which in all honesty are not something you want to make a feature out of, and created a calmness to the whole space. In your case, I would go for an off white so that the gang plug wires, radiator pipes and covers hiding the wires for the extractor fan etc., are disguised as much as possible -- that will tie in with the palest of the tiles in the splash back, and then you will have a pretty basic colour scheme of a very place colour and the dark worktop, fireplace and floor, which will stand out more. I think you need more storage with doors -- that bookshelf isn't doing anything for the kitchen. If you could get something in there that could hide lots of clutter -- even if just something cheap from IKEA, that would help greatly. Or work something around the filing cabinet that you have? A huge cheap mirror over the fireplace would bounce some light around too. If you don't want to go for undercupboard lighting, and if you have enough plug points, how about some lamps on the worktop, especially at the FF end with a floor standing lamp at the end with the chair. For the table, I would go for a table cloth and reupholster the chairs if they are not to your taste. A new blind in a much fresher colour would be great. Depending on the colour of your filing cabinet (if you use it), I think a petrol blue could add a nice vintage vibe to the chimney breast, and make more of a feature of it. I would try and go down a vintage/slightly industrial route rather than country. You may have some stuff lurking around that you could use, once you have got the base colours right -- currently it just feels a little cluttered and a bit of a mish mash. Best of luck. As for the protruding wall it is indeed a little uneasy on the eye and Isidora's idea of having something loose in front of it could certainly work. I would even go beyond the hanging and go for a curtain along the wall that would then be straight from the window to the other side. It could be in the same colour as the walls if you are not keen on adding colour but it would bring something a little softer which is nice for a bedroom. 11 years agolast modified: 11 years agoHu Liornoli, personally with big ticket items like curtains I always go neutral because I only buy quality and quality with cheap curtains is not an association I often found. This way when I redecorate in years to come I can keep the curtains and re work the other areas.
For colours I would pick the burnt orange you have in the flooring and tie that in the room.
Paint the walls a nice mushroom colour, then find a fluffy orange bedspread to introduce some texture and luxury to the scheme, layer a neutral large bedspread with a mohair throw over the top to add the colour. - 11 years agoIt looks like you'll need to hang either curtains that match in with your bedding or fit a blind - see attached photos to help give you an idea of how that would look. If the flooring is to remain, I'd buy a couple of orange cushions for the bed to tie the room together. Hope that helps

- 11 years agoI always like table lamps and given that your bedside tables are quite low, I'd go for tall lamps. I've attached some that you may like......check out eBay for good value (that's where the onion lights I've shown are)

Here's a great example how orange and blue/teal shades work as accents in a neutral interior.
Keep most of it neutral and just add a few slashes of colour. If you plan on keeping the teal cushions see if you can find some orange cushion with a bit of pattern not plain so that it would look better with the plain teal ones.
Good luck, take your time to find the perfect items, don't rush it. Just make sure you come and show us the result :)
