jasminmgm.... Did you use a sealer on your floors? We just put in Philadelphia Travertine Floors and were told that sealing the floors would help prevent this.... Sandilcelik.... Philadelphia travertine has a mix with taupe, silver/grey, cream and specks of black We love it. It is sold everywhere under different names. Ours came from MSinternational Tile Company.

We are using the bullet proof by Dupont. We also used grout that had sealer in it. Fingers crossed. Your floors are gorgeous!

I have two large labs that have destroyed my hardwood flooring and looking to replace our kitchen with Travertine. I see that you wrote that you have a dog and I wondered from your experience if the Travertine is durable with dogs and their paws!! Thanks

I do have 2 little yorkies, i guess because they're tiny dogs they can't scratch the stone, however during our kitchen remodel, workers move my fridge and left a deep scratch on the floor, but the good news is they sand papered the scratch off and sealed the area, it disappeard.

Our little teacup Yorky sometimes doesn't make it to the pee pad, I clean as soon as I see, but it leaves a an etching. This is also not permanent, just recently I had my floors profesiontly cleaned and sealed, all etchings are gone. So travertine floors basically last a life time, and worry free. Let the dogs run and play. Make sure to steam clean and seal once a year, it'll look like brand new.
