I agree: these windows look good as they are! If there are no privacy issues, the only other factor that may be worth considering is how the windows look from outside. So, for example, it there a similar rectangular window in the room to the left, which you may wish to dress similarly to maintain the symmetry from the outside?

Another vote for Roman blinds installed directly in the recess of window, behind the dropped ceiling area. From the outside, it would look like normal Roman bling (as they will cover a bit of the window and hide the pipes cover) and from the inside, they will be hidden behind the pipes. And easy access to pull them up/down with the chain.
