I've recently revealed an inglenook fireplace in my little cottage. it's currently swagged with a spruce garland, but as it's a fab feature all year round I intend to use hop bines for the whole of next year ! beautiful, tactile and naturally gorgeous

I love to put up enlarged prints of our favourite holiday moment. Use the colours to inspire the colours and fabrics for the room and best off sll it is sentimental and really welcoming.

I love canvas and prints, but I have the perfect place for this nice mirror in my bedroom!

Wallpaper every time. Looks more chic than hung art. But you can always hang a mirror/photos over the wallpaper to break it up?

I have very personal art on my wall, my daughter is an artist and I have some of her art. I also have some of my mum's watercolours on the wall, she wasn't the best artist in the world but she loved to paint and everytime I look at them I see my mum enjoying herself and it makes me smile, It keeps her with me.

I stick to quite soft colours with the tops of the walls in white (to mirror how they looked originally in our 30s house but without the old picture rails) - then add mirrors and pictures though that still needs to be done!

I seek the beauty in mouldings. Fit three perfectly equal sized rectangles per wall and cover up cornices in the entire room. The fun begins with a gorgeous wallpaper covered onto one of the empty walls. It is a b/w photograph of the American desert prevalent with human sized cactuses. That unlimited feel can be extended into the room by adding a few pots with Parodia chrysacanthions. A carefully selected art can be placed right in the middle of

right in the middle of the centered moulding rectangle. I prefer to take time filling room with art and other decorum items.

Wallpaper for me...to make a statement or to apply a subtle glow/texture into the room...its a very versatile product...and you can try it much easier than paint...and it doesn't leave a funny colour patch if you don't like it!

My husband hated me 'spoiling' freshly painted walls by hanging things on them, but then I decided to take matters into my own hands, and hang all sorts of junky finds on them now, which he's agreed adds loads of character and fits in well with our cottage style

I am making my own drawings for a house I am building. I am making the walls the right size for five large paintings I simply love. In my new bedroom will be photographs of my nearest and dearest.

None of them are straight.

I love wallpaper, but even more I love artwork picked up during travels abroad. It's always a great reminder of a place we've visited

I'm loving 60s style wall sculptures at the moment, particularly metal.

The sitting room walls photos and framed posters of the Red Arrows,my husbands choice. In the bedroom mirrors and antique jewelry my choice .

I decorate with junk shop and travel treasures mixed with unusual prints and mirrors

I am just getting into photography and the plan will be to eventually put my own prints up on the walls if I dare or am brave enough. I like pieces of art that make you think and reflect.

there's so much interesting wallpaper to choose from, and so many ways to use it - 1 feature wall, or all round or even samples in picture frames hung on the wall!

Art can be changed so much easier than wallpaper which I consider to be the blank canvas...I change my art depending on the season, my moods, the latest acquisiton and "just becos".....at present I am looking at a beautiful tapestry on my bedroom wall, from Canterbury Cathedral.

My grandma is an amazing painter, so we have her paintings all over the house, as well as a giant hand-dyed fabric hanging on the staircase's wall. I also love big clocks and have one in the open space living area and one in the master bedroom.

Imagine our lives without paint! We just take it for granted because it's a humble material but oh boy, you can do so much with it! And it's forgiving... Make a mistake and you go over it. Prints, wallpaper, artwork... You can have them all but they need paint to make them stand out.

Start with paint then add prints.

I sometimes catch my eight year old daughter running her fingers over he wallpaper in her new bedroom. It's impossible not to smile as you walk into the room.

Paintings and art around the house in general, as it is so easy to move and change, so if a room needs a bit of life, just move around some paintings and everything feels new!

Individual pieces for me. My partner made us a picture rack out of old creates which hangs in the hallway. Then pictures I've collected over the years.

Feature walls as often often don't get round to hanging pictures. Daughters room has shelf all round, with her favourite things on display

Wall stickers! They are as big or as small as you want them and are suitable for adults and children alike. Very recommended.

We display a lot of art work and photos around the house. The walls are certainly not bare.
