Part of the problem is that I don't know exactly what it is called, and it seems to have different descriptions on different sites, so searching the web is proving frustrating. Basically, it is a bracket for attaching the end of a rail to a sloping wall or ceiling. Ideally, I would like one in brass. I have found a picture of just about the exact thing on this site here, but have had no luck in finding a UK retailer. I am not sure the loo has to be on the outside wall - it could be anywhere, you just have to box in the large pipe that will run from it to the outside wall. I know it's irritating when people say start again but the room seems a bit bitty and if the basin and loo were in a run of units, separated by small cupboards, with a continuous surface along the top of the whole run, it would look really rather sleek. And the pipe could run under the units, hidden by it - that's what I've done in my bathroom. Stick a mirror above the units, covering the whole wall from surface to ceiling, and side to side, and it will make the room seem much bigger. Are you having a towel radiator in there? That will add some character if you have towels that complement the colours you choose. Then add some interesting bits and pieces to make it seem less utilitarian.

Thanks all! yes i am coming round to the idea of grey walls, think the stark white walls may be the main problem with the room! Thanks for the mock up MATH, really helps to visualise it. and I like the green, had been thinking of green too and that would link with the faux plant idea. Coukd also get picture of canvas with the green colour in. Unfortunately dont want to change the mirror atm, it's wired in and gives good lighting. for painting the walls, what shade should I try? a really light grey so it's not obvious or something darker but still not as dark as the wall tiles? Monica, I presume u mean wall tiles or do u mean the floor tiles? and should I paint all the walls or jusy the sink wall? only thing is the towel rail wall is such a big expanse of blank white!! how is best to sort that? maybe a shelf with the said plants on??

@Jaya Garella I wasn't 100% sure what you meant by 'the bras'? haha. none of the tiles on the mock up pic are anything I have specifically chosen - they are the least offensive on the app I had which is a house mock up program and not specifically for bathrooms. I would need a splashback with a sink unit though as that back sink/wc wall is just a wood frame at the moment so will need plasterboarding. Part of me wants to avoid the grey as although I love a rich grey, the rest of my house is off black by F&B so very dark and moody. In the tiles in a small room it might be a bit drab? I'm also struggling to find patterned tiles that I could put all over the bath wall and bath that wouldn't be too much ie too large a pattern or too small. I would then have to have maybe a wood effect (vinyl or tile) on the floor as I think pattern on the floor and bath panel and large wall might be too much? You don't see the bath wall when you walk in as the door opens to the left and hides it. Trying to find some industrial glam images of alternative options as I'm a bit stuck in a rut with it and my bathroom fitting team is a bit old school so not up on design! haha
