I think wherever possible all flooring should be the same on any one level of a home to give 'flow' and continuity. Hence your kitchen floor should be the same or look the same as the room it leads off; presumably the hallway. If this is wood or laminate I would match it or find the nearest ceramic wood affect tiles that you can.

Marble would still work well in all those areas - luxurious and dramatic! A couple of points to take care with: - Take care if you're option for high gloss, as they can be slippery when wet - If you're opting for a very "white" marble (Carrara or some such), be prepared for it to show every dirty mark and need regular cleaning. If your lifestye can cope with this great - if you have three labrodors and live in a pair of Hunter wellies, I'd urge caution....

Hi Jay, we agree that a golden oak could clash with your walnut worktop. But think you could still go for an oak with lighter or ashen tones. The shades below are understated so would be great for flowing through multiple rooms too. And of course, as they're lighter floors they'd help to keep your spaces feeling nice and open. Two that spring to mind from our natural stone range are our Dijon Tumbled Limestone and our Dove Grey Tumbled Limestone, both are very popular in kitchens and I think would suit your kitchen colours and the look that you are wanting to create. The Dijon starts from only £37 per sqm, and the Dove Grey a bit more from £50 per sqm, inc VAT. If you wanted something really rustic, a tumbled travertine could work - our Light Tumbled Travertine or Country Mix Tumbled Travertine would work brilliantly in your space. Starting from £26 per sqm and £20 per sqm respectively. If you would prefer wood, our entire Planks & Parquet range can be used with underfloor heating, and wood would create a real feeling of warmth in the space.
