Interior design course

I would like to embark on a home study interior design course, does anyone have any suggestions on which is worth doing or steering clear off?

There are quite a few home study courses available. I would suggest having a look at KLC.

Hi Ben, Firstly, I love the fact you have done your own interior and your so inspired by it that you want to do more. It's refreshing to see such youthful enthusiasm, hang onto that !!!! I agree with the comments above, especially with Sues comments regarding the need for you to adapt to other peoples tastes to be a successful designer. My personal tastes is for Steampunk but I have never been asked over my 30 year career to design a Steampunk inspired interior. At the moment I have a grade two listed building on which is very traditional, an ultra modern house in the Lakes and a hotel scheme in Switzerland. I have to wear a different hat for each project. Interior design is about having the ability to tune into your clients needs / tastes and then giving them the very best design based on their aspirations. The KLC would definitely be a good start, its three years of hard graft to get a degree from them but the course is superb and will prepare you for the jungle that you'll have to navigate if you want a career in this business. Hi, I did the Interior Design Institute Diploma, it's very interesting and getting an actual diploma is a benefit if you do want to use it as a career. Took me a bit longer than they say it should but you can buy a 12month extension if you need.
